Make sure to look at the sticky thread on the ignition switch problems with the tractor. Install the relay......enjoy a pretty trouble free tractor.

OK, I have not even gotten to the hitch. Now, after digging three french drains, and doing much landscaping, the tractor just died. I was going up a 45 degree hill, and it seemed to struggle for a moment. Then stalled. Turned over, but would not start. Added fuel to the tank (tank was on about 1/4 of a tank). Turns over strong, but will not start. Check fuel filter. Seems to be ok. Removed filthy air cleaner, squirted starting fluid made for diesel. Still wont start. Had to tow it with my truck to get it off of the road! Once again, I need some advice. Thanks much in advance.

Will do. Would the tractor stall, and still turn over, with a faulty ignition switch? Thanks much.

I have a tc25d, and its been great. I'm sorry to hear about your problem. Once you added more fuel, did you bleed the line? I ran out with the gauge reading a bit less than 1/4, and after adding fuel it wouldn't turn over but cranked and cranked. With a Diesel engine, you need to bleed the fuel pump (I think) and its easy to do, you just back out a nut at the pump and crank. Have a rag handy. You would need to do the same thing when replacing the fuel filter. Maybe someone else here can add greater detail. You also may have to bleed the injectors, but hopefully not. Both are outlined in the owners manual, but I'm sure you can find the info with some pictures on the Internet. If not, I can post a scan of the drawing from the manual. Let us all know how things work out.

My tc25d has been a champ-i have a woods backhoe on mine, and the only problem I've had so far is re-tightening the throttle handle linkage (great tutorial on this forum). Otherwise, we've been chugging along without incident. Also, my cruise control doesn't work, but rather than replace the switch, I don't worry about it. I don't need it.

Keep us posted.

Thanks much. That is the first thing I will try this morning. I will have to find the fuel pump! Hey, I'm learning.

Here's the pertinent pages from the manual. Hopefully you can avoid having to bleed the injectors but who knows. Good luck!

Well, that was it. I loosened the bolt on top of the injector and it started right up. Thank you so much, Z! I need to bite the bullet and buy a shop manual.

In my first response I incorrectly wrote injector. So I corrected it. It was the bleed screw on the pump. Sorry for multiple sends but the first didn't go through...then it sent it. Thanks again. OK, back to digging.
