Price Check New Holland TC40A

Hi I am new to this site and forum. My dad passed away and I am inheriting a new holland TC40A with attachments. I went to the dealer to get a fair market value for tractor and attachments. When he gave me a price of 1/3 of what was paid for it, saying his brother would buy it, I felt a bit deceived. I just want a fair price to pay for medical bills on something my dad purchased for his retirement. Can anyone give me a fair price on a New Holland TC40A with bucket, 4" wood chipper, power angle front snow blow, 72" finish mower. I have search the internet but not sure if the prices I am seeing is fair or not. I am located in NE PA. I don't know much about tractors please help.

saddly some dealers will lowball some1 wanting to sale something because they want to buy it or know some1 who will.your tractor is prolly worth $10,000 or $12,000.usually a tractor sells used for 20% to 30% of what a new 1 cost.

Thanks for your reply. I agree dealers will lowball but I wasn't asking them to buy it just fair market value price.

I would check Tractor House. - Asking prices give you an idea of the "retail ' price.

Price the tractor and the attachments individually or as a package.

You will always get a better price on a private sale than any dealer.

You could also take pictures and sell it yourself on Craigslist.

I hate to see you sell something so a dealer can make money on your situation.

There may even be a member here who is shopping .

There is a great wealth of people here. You are in PA so the market is somewhat different than the rest of the US.

Look at models that are close the the age and hours of use as your dad's tractor. That should really help you come up with a fair asking price.

Tractorhouse, and usually a machine is $10/hour. So 100 hour on tractor, means $1000 less what was paid new for.
