Thanks for diagram, the spring under the lever is missing, I recall last time used I ran over tips of locust tree, that storm had knocked down , with bushhog, probably broke spring and threw it off. I'm going to replace and go from there. Is that messecks good place to buy part? Would never have known spring was missing without parts breakdown. It looks like your adjustment would be adjusting the actuating rod, either 15 or 16 in the bottom picture.
I doubt that adjusting will help you it may in need a good lubricating and excercising to free up its operation.

UMessicks is as good as most are as far as on line, price whys my local dealer is about the same or a bit less.
I'd say try your local dealer and save the shipping unless it's enough easier to just have it shipped in.
