Yeah - the FEL would have been perfect if only my tractor had been there at the time! This building is on our farm property, not at our home.....hence building the "new home" for my 990. Any similar projects out there will definitely get the FEL treatment now.

Very nice project:) I hope I can make an exact same one. The price is very impressive. May I ask the steel thickness?

Champy, may I ask the front tire tread width of 990, is that over 53"? Thanks a lot.

While not quite as elaborate as some of the tractor sheds I've seen posted, but I finally got my new shed installed. Its 20' x 26' w/8' tall sidewalls. 2" rectangular steel tubing for framing and steel siding/roof. 3 other guys and myself finished it in about 6 hours total.

I'm happy and the Mrs is too since the tractor is now under wraps......... I'll probably start working on some upgrades like roof vents; more windows; etc.. as time goes on.

Great tractor shed! I am looking for another shed about that size. Any idea what kind of snow load your roof will take? Do you get a lot of wind?

We get a lot of lake effect snow off of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay along with heavy winds every winter.

No insulation barrier in the ceiling ?, does it sweat on ya ?

By the way, putting up one of those rollup doors is a real back-breaker since you lift the whole assembly (rolled up) to the header to mount it on brackets.........sweated that one.

We had one put up at work and the guys re rolled door off axel
mounted all the track ect and axel took 2 ropes about 10 ft long and 2 comalongs lifted door up with comalongs tied rope in a loops around shaft and door took comalongs off hooked top of door to axel and pulled the chain to wind the rest of the door on. they then finished track and bottom of door and reset spring presure

Apologies from bouncing this one back up, but in looking for another thread I realized there were some questions on this one that I neglected to answer..........better late than never I guess. My apologies to you guys, I did not intend to ignore your questions.

Willl - Regarding sweating on the ceiling........yes it has tended to sweat if I put the tractor away without a cooling off period and shut all the doors. However if I can leave the rollup door or back window open it does not. Since I don't leave it here during the winter months (used at my house to plow) it hasn't really been too much of a bother. Perhaps vents are in order....

Luremaker - I don't know what the roof load is. I did however reinforce the areas where the walls meet the roofline (eaves) due to high winds. We were getting 70+ mph winds/storms and the roof was constantly chattering because the only screws were at each rafter. I added screws along the whole side between rafters and the chatter is gone. No flexing or rippling either. It wasn't causing damage before but I hated working in the building while the roof was chattering - and I figured it would eventually start working to fatigue some joints if I did nothing.

M31 - I believe my tire width overall is about 6' at the rear....I never measured the front though but i's fairly close. And i also have the wheels set at their widest setting with Industrial tires too. The steel thickness is a 12 gauge (=.012?). There was a choice of going with 14 vs 12 and I went with the heavier one (I hope). BTW - its not really "heavy" steel siding like some cargo carrier containers. You can very easily punch the FEL through it (it was an accident - I swear), but it certainly meets my needs for being 1) inexpensive; 2) tax free; and 3) portable......biggest problem is I should have gone bigger......implements, mowers and tools are killing me now.

Sorry all for the VERY tardy responses. This Fall has been life-in-he**.

One concern I can see is---
1st How much snow do you typically see per year there?
2nd There is absolutely no way that snow can slide off the roof with the ribs of your tin running that direction. And walking on it to shovel it may cause damage also between your trusses. In the summer time when it rains water may also pool up in the ribs and cause rust damage also. Just a thought to consider and keep an eye on this winter. Other than that it is a great looking shed. Concrete floor and insulation in the future for a nice little workshop.
