All hand made. No power tools used in building this.

Well, I got all four walls seathed and Michele and her mother got the whole outside painted. I am so tired I can’t even lift up my arms. This is hard work. At least I am getting some experience so when I build my workshop. [A 30 x 40 garage]

Now I just need a roof, and some trim. Oh, and every thing else.

Friend of mine had a 1250 sq' 1 1/2 story house dried in before he had electricity at the site. The floor joists were full measure 2 X 12 from an old building that was torn down in Austin. He hauled 'em 30 miles then hand carried 'em across a ravine he hadn't yet bridged. He also hand dug the septic and the last time I saw him was hand digging a basement under the house. I've never done anything like he has, but have felt the pain of doing projects like you have here - and just bought a portable generator so I never have to go there again! Good Job - I like the siding!

The siding is just T11. I just laid it horizontal instead of vertical. Gives a bit of a clapboard look with T11 ease of install. I may side it with vinyl in the future to match the house.[what ever that will look like] As for the hand tools, I started lying off the power a few years ago. By the time you find the saw, tracked down the extension cord, find out you got the wrong blade, you would be done cutting with a handsaw. Also it is a lot nicer hearing a hand saw cut, then the racket of a power saw.

Make sure you get a good layer of stain or water repellent on that T-111. The groove on the face exposes the layers of the plywood and will tend to accumulate water. It will delaminate with time. I learned the hard way with my father's garage.
