The house is moving along. We have some work to do on the siding. Builder says that they will fix the issues.....so hopefully that's the case.

Looking good, and moving fast.

I want to hire txdon to come up and put in a patio for me.

That was a pretty mild "personal" attack. My only reason for posting is his numerous negative comments about Justin's build job on rather picky items many of which were false alarms. I feel that when someone is in their first build, there is no reason to add to the stress. I just don't want Justin to assume there is more to it than that.

I wish Eddie well and do like much of his craftsmanship. But the builder building Justin's house probably has much more experience building homes literally from the ground up.

You are the first person to ever get upset about my suggestions to make a house stronger. It is a novel approach to support out of date methods, sub code technique and in some cases, just flat out wrong framing methods.

Ok - let's leave it there. I'm sure that most people just want to see pictures anyways. If my house falls down I'll be sure to snap some pictures and we can assign points to the winner!!!

Yes sir. I apologize for my comments and in no way meant to indicate that the house would fall down. Good luck with the rest of your house build, I'll refrain from commenting on it again.

Eddie, I have not been offended by any of your comments. I have said before that I appreciate everyones input. I just dont want this to turn into a thread that moves way off topic.

Eddie please keep posting. We all learn from each other in these threads. It's up to the op to decide which of the comments/suggestions are worth considering. You made several suggestions during my build that were appreciated. Some of them I followed (bathroom layouts & vanities as focus points) and some of them I did not (more spray foam in the ceilings). I think both turned out to be the right decision. Based on my heating bills the extra foam would not have paid back, but the suggestion gave me something to consider and research more for an informed decision. In the end the suggestions from you and others helped build us a better home. We all like pictures however these build threads without discussion would be pretty boring. Keep on posting.

I see metal plates in this pic.

In that pic you see the plumber protected his pipes because the wall was notched for them. Most of the wires maybe in the center of the floor plates and not within screw depth of the surface. In the pic of the below stairs closet is the security system and the grey conduit can still be punctured with a drywall screw. May be others that would benefit from some protection.

There's an old saying, "there's more than one way to skin a cat".
I sometimes do things the way i've always seen them done. I appreciate suggestions on other ways to do it, still might not do it that way because of costs, etc, but i do appreciate suggestions.

I enjoy the building threads and thank those that take the time to post their pics, even if it does open you up to criticism.
