Drive through carport is primarily for convenience - never have to backup. That should help in old age. Ramp on back porch also for old age. It is a 3bdrm, 2bath, with the Mbath being handicap accessible.

That is pretty darn smart! With my multi-level house, my option for old age is to save my money to install elevators. Sheesh!

BTW: Showed the pictures to Kathy. She approves.

Building your own home is a rewarding experience......

I'm in the planning stages myself......we bought a farm on 22

acres with a stick framed 18 yr old home....1300 square up and a full finished

basement.....what I'm planning on doing is building a one level with very

low maintance on a 12 acre block......my retirement project in two yrs...

Looking good Mike and Bernice. I bet you are relieved to get it dried in. When is the sheetrock coming? Don't forget the handles in the shower like we did, and make sure you take lots of pictures before they sheetrock. Were is the generator? I'm going to have to make a drive over there to see what we should have done.:D

Are we going to have a TBN get together and have a gazebo raising in the Spring?

Really hoping to have a spring BBQ, house warming, b'day party last of Mar first of April. Don't know if I'll be ready to raise the pergola yet or not....I'll try to get ready.....If I can get the uprights done we can have a paver laying party.

OMG!!!!! 21 years of USAF is coming back to haunt me!! Besides having a good deal of stone on the exterior there is still a lot of painted surface. We painted swatches on the house and picked "high tea" and "rice grain" as the colors......MY BUTT! .... the painters are here now and it's OD GREEN and CAMO TAN!:ashamed: Still looks good against the stone. Maybe I'll have to paint arrows on trees to find my way back to the house from pasture.:confused2::rolleyes:

Nice planning! I really like the way your interior space blends in with/leads into the porch area. Wunna these days I'll have a porch....

Mike

Looking good! Will be looking forward to your TBN house warming. I will be working hard on my post surgery PT (knee replacement) to be ready.
