New hydraulic pump, new fluid, lift is veeeery slow.

The hose that disconnected was a QD on the high pressure side. I haven't checked any pressure as I just got the fluid in it tonight. I'm just hoping that the new fluid isn't to thick. The old stuff was a pink color and the new stuff is about the color of a regular beer. It might be a little thicker...hard to tell.

If you are going to use QD on the pressure line, then you need to add an external relief valve right after the pump and set it to tractor specs.

There is a much easier and cheaper way than to add a external relief valve. Measure the body of the quick connect and buy a set of split collars, one to lock each quick connect coupling. They lock in place on the body of the quick connect with 2 screws and will positively lock the release collar on the quick connects against being bumped and accidently disconnected. You still have the quick connect, but using these you have a positive quick lock for the sliding collar. Cost = about 2 bucks each. More I think about the OP's question, I'm 90% convinced that he has the small pump VS the larger one to run a loader. Did the pump come from Hoye ?? Did you ask for the high cap pump to run a loader ?? Also could be the filter plugged on the bottom of the tractor beneath the seat. Many of the gray market tractor ( mine included ) came with the standard Yanmar pump and a aftermarket loader was added to it once it got here. That standard pump makes the loader run slow and uses less hp than the larger pump. Loaders are most often used stationary and you would never notice the difference with the larger pump and no load on the tractor.

Would the Yanmars that were marketed in the US have the larger pumps? My YM226D loader is slow as the piss stream from a swollen prostate.

Are you a doctor or first hand experience? :D

Smoody, that would be a question for Hoye Tractor, suspect they will know the full story and have the cure if necessary. Pump has a tag on it, have the part # from it when you call and ask. Just remember that unless that filter screen is clean, it won't matter what pump you have if the pump can't get enough fluid.

Smoody, the parts list for the 226 lists two numbers for the pump. 194432-41120 and 194361-41120. You can put either of those numbers in Hoye's search field and it will bring up this pump. Yanmar Tractor Parts PUMP ASSY

Back from a little more research. My 2002D parts list shows two different pumps and the one connected to the power steering (which I have) is the same pump as your 226. My loader speed is not very fast either although it may be faster than your description.

Back again. Tag on my pump states 10cc/rev or about 6.34gpm.

Apparently not. My YM240 has what seems to be the loader-ready kit, larger front tires and the HD adjustable-width axle. But its hydraulic pump is the standard-capacity one. (And the aftermarket loader is slow).

Mine's a import with the same HD. Adj. Axle and HD. Front Hubs that have 4 bolts on the cap. "NO Numbers or marking on the Pump" But I have on the Model Decal T2R20A-A. I have only heard of "1" and have yet found or heard of Anyone that Knows What the -A stands for. With nothing on the Hyd. Pump probly rules that out for Loader ready. I also have access to a JD.5103 to use if a FEL. may be needed. But Knowing what It's capable of doing at 55Hp. the little YM 2000 will is basicly stay as my Lawn Mower and BH. and occasionaly use it to grade my gravel Dr. Which I can Bog and get Stuck easily with Crush and Run. It's Org. never been Refurbished. I left Steve a Check for it until I was able to get back and pick it up! :D

I've seen the -A at the local VN import wholesaler. (Long closed). My YM240 engine tag is T2R20A-X. Maybe X is 'export'?

There were minor updates to YM240 engine when they went from green to red sheet metal paint, and maybe at another update too. For one thing the dipstick is on the opposite side of the early ones. I expect your -A is the final Japan-market update.

No doubt it's there for a reason. My guess A- American and for X- X-out and had enough.
