Installed it tonite. 4 yrs. and 250 hrs. The existing would heat up and stop pulling on inclines after about 45 min. of use. Spray it with a water hose and cool for 3 min., good for 10 min more. Could have made do, but that's one PITA I really don't have to put up with plus the Bride mows most of the time anyway and it was getting a bit dangerous.
Not really surprised or disappointed. It's a light duty, relatively cheap big piece that qualifies as a severe use case if ever one did. About the only flat spot in the yard is the concrete pad. If it's still in decent shape 4 yrs from now I'll cram another $400 tranny in it.
Not too bad a job. As would expect, the linkages are the most aggravating part.
If you're looking for parts, these folks had the best price on the tranny by far and their service was excellent.
