NEW IDEA FOR CELL PHONE .

This is highly irregular and probably is not the appropriate place to air this but i have had no luck with any of the other mediums regarding patents i have . I thought someone conected with manufacturing may happen to be on TBN and may be able to help me with getting this off the ground . This is a new idea for a cell phone to make it more appealing and usefull to the buying public . It is aimed mainly at trades people , in particular , mechanics , plumbers , carpenters etc . The idea which i have a prototype of and a Provisional Patent on is a Cell Phone with a flexible or retractable illuminated camera lense being of the Borescope variety which after inserting through an aperature enables you to view an object in an inaccessible place . Take for instance a mechanic who has dropped a washer inside an engine , instead of removing the sump all he would need to do is insert the camera through the sump plug hole and the illuminated camera would display the image onto the viewing screen on the phone . Or as in my illustration a pest exterminator looking into a cavity for spiders . Another use would be say , a carpenter wanting to cut a window into a wall . Without knowing what is behind the cladding a potential life threatening hazard exists with electrical wiring , gas pipes etc . It would be a simple matter to make a small hole , insert the camera and view the cavity on the phones screen . Ive contacted a few phone companies but have had no luck . Someone may be able to help me , thanks for your time .

Neat idea.

In the picture you provide, the snake is not long enough to be practicle to use, in my opinion. You'd have to have the snake long enough to get through the hole and keep the video screen in a viewable position. Longer cable = more room needed to store. I do not think the affordable technology is there yet.

The flexible shaft is the only one i had to use at the time for the prototype . It extends to 9" when fully out . I had to have it only partly out so it would fit on an A4 sheet of paper that you see so i could scan it for the Provisional Patent application . It would be modified a little if it went any further towards manufacture . I also have a version with a telescoping shaft in my patent . I also have a version using Bleached Borosilica bundles (optic fibres) so as to do away with the camera lense altogether .

The engineer i spoke to said it would cost around $7 to manufacture . How much they would charge i do'nt know . I do'nt know where you get your phones from but ours cost $650 and are paid off at $5 per month on your plan .

WHAT, $650, most of the time they are free with our plans. An upgraded phone is only $100 if not less. For $650 it darn well better run the vacuum and tie my shoes for a year. Enough of my rant now, you have a solid idea that I would find usefull if weight and size were appropriate.

$650 for a phone? Yikes! As mentioned, if you buy a plan, many phones are free. I didn't buy a plan. I bought a $19.00 phone and we are required to buy 300 minutes every two months for $30.00. So, our minimum cost is 50 cents a day.

It would be nice if the phones services would figure out how to get complete coverage so I don't have dropped calls, THEN figure out how to make a decent camera so it takes a nice picture- seems like they are changing too many things before perfecting the basics- service.
Now, IF your phone could, say, open the garage door, open the auto gate opener, etc- because it does have a GPS in it already, you could open your gate for the meter reader when you are away from the farm or remote property. IMO- now you are on to something!!
