Tractor
Used Yanmar and Iseki
Just got my Iseki tractors in and finally got a chance to play with my new Caroni 6' RD finish mower and my 5' King Kutter brush hog mower. Both worked great! I looked back, (Thanks Bird) for some ideas to make a dangling chain guard for my KK to keep stuff from flying at me. Was about $250 to order new and I spent about $35 on bulk chain, an angle iron scrap, and a couple of hours of my time with my friend the wire feed welder. I saw a couple of examples where someone drilled a crap load of holes and bolted on chains but decided to pull out the wire feed instead. Seemed a lot easier than drilling all of those holes. Once I got the right cutting height figured out on the Caroni it really mowed nice. Talk about tip speed on the blades, that thing really screams!

Nick, is there any chance you could post a pic of your home made chain guard? I'm sure a lot of people would like to see it.

Gary,
would be glad to, probably toward the end of the week. Got stuck on jury duty this week, taking up my tractor play time. There's only so much a guy can stand to give up!

When the tip speed exceeds the sonic barrier do you have a set of ear plugs that screen out the sonic boom?
