New JD 3520 : she's a beauty !

Nuru, I'd be interested in your opinion of your tires.
I had a Massey 35 before the JD 3520. It had fat low pressure Ag tires that gave it traction and made it comfortable. I nevertheless got stuck a number of times on my property or couldn't do the job I had in mind because the wheels were spinning. I didn't want less traction, so I chose R1 tires on the JD. But they are narrow and hard, rip the grass and are very uncomfortable. What are yours like?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Mine seem to never really lose traction, except when in 2 wheel drive on a 19 degree slope that has wet grass. switching to 4 wheel, takes care of that. I have not had to switch to my knobby R-4's yet. My Turf Specials are very comfortable and I use them for all tasks at this point.

The R-4s were ok, but i needed to get more stability because the 3520 is taller than the 4310, and also seems to be 2" slimmer in stance with the same tires on te rear.

The Turf Specials on the 3520 put the stance at 66" and on the 4310, they were 68". My 4310 was OS though, so it was more stable than the my current 3520 CAB is. but I don't miss the weather exposure in the winter!

I was also concerned at first because the 3520 is higher than my Massey was and a foot narrower so it feels unstable. I've been using it for several months now and have never been in trouble at all, all 4 wheels stayed on the ground at all times. Being narrow and high, it is often inclined, but the weight is in the lower parts and stability is quite satisfactory. I have given up the idea of changing the mounting of the rear wheels to make the machine wider.
