I just purchased a 2005 5105 and 522 loader from my local dealer. Should be on my farm by next week- anything special with the 5005 series that I should know about? Mine is 2wd and will be used for everything from square bailing, mowing, plowing and loader work.

I can't help you with any info but I'm definitely interested in how that tractor works out for you. Keep us posted. post a picture if you can too.

Be safe...Kyle

Will do- for the money I do not think you can go wrong. My local dealer really came through on the price as well. (20k out the door)
I have a farm tax exemption so that saved a good bit. ANyway, my neighbor bought one and I have used it a bit, now another neighbor is getting one. We grow orchard grass, fescue and are getting into a vineyard- this will be our all around do everything tractor. It is replacing a Ford 3000. I also have an old Farmall 140 for cultivating and pulling a smaller finish mower. Basically it is a toy but still very useful.

Congratulations on your green machine. I think that you will be very happy.

Be sure to fill out your signature information so we can help you with your questions.

How do you have it ballasted for the loader? You will be surprised just how light that rear end can become.

If you live in snow country, seriously consider tire chains. They can be bought at any number of ag dealers or on line.

I'd be interested in hereing more myself. I just bought a new 5220 4WD after parking my butt on both tractors. I started both, found the 5220 to run much smoother (don't ask me why the 5105 vibrated like it does) and it just felt much better to me. Also, I hooked the 5105 in low gear, ran it up to 2000 rpm and was surprised at how fast it was......too fast. The 5220 just crawled in comparison. At any rate, I spent the extra $3300 and only time will tell if it it was worth it. Don't know what kind of deal I got either. The 5220 4WD has mid and rear SVC's..2 out the back, one on the side, industrial tires, front bumper, joy stick and synch-shuttle...$24,800.
