New JD 990 and Woods RD72

My father in law (Sir, to my son) got his new 2WD 990 yesterday. Attached is a Woods 72" finish mower. Perfect machine combo for what he wants it for. I enjoyed mowing on it a little this morning.

Quiet, turns tight, plenty of power. I was impressed.

Kenny, most of the 990's I've seen were 2WD machines.

I didn't know that they made 2WD 990 either, until my father in law asked the dealer.

What did the 2wd model cost him? Looks like my 2 year old when he gets on the tractor. he gets mad when I take him off it though.

$16,900 for 990 2WD, Imatch, and Woods 72" finish mower.

Again, I was really impressed with this combo for finish mowing. Tractor is very quiet, very comfortable, very stable. You can see great and it turns on a dime. The mower is very sturdy and cuts beautifully.

Don't know if I'd want to cut 20 acres of pasture with a 6' shredder on it, but for finish mowing 3-10 acres I was impressed.

I was wondering if you knew which model the Woods Mower is your FIL bought?

It looks like the Heritage version based on the color.

Chip Tel your FIL Congrats .The John Deere 990 is a real work horse. I am still wondering why its a no frill tractor, maybe its because it has no power windows,door locks,key less entry.
