Bob, my tractor search was extensive. Originally I did dealer search from the John Deere website and located all the JD dealers within a 50 mi radius.

Went to 'em all.

Allen's isn't far 29 mi according to map. Easy drive. All country roads. Their price quote was acceptable to me. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want. Let me drive anything I wanted too including the gators. Took me thru the shop and introduced everyone. Field service has been exceptional too. Tech guy is top of the line. Tractor was delivered right on time.

Q. "Would you go back to Allen if you were purchasing another CUT?"

A. Yes.

Just knowing YOU saw one is getting me excited. Ask them if they'll sell me the 4410 for the same price as a 4310 and we can go shopping together. Thanks for the input on Frontier; all this info helps. Good luck with your purchase -- I'll keep you informed as mine gets closer.

Just trying to help with ideas for a well set up shop. I'll never have one, but heck, here it's so easy to help out. And yes, you must ventilate using some form of protective gear to provide suitable quality air. The three minutes of holding your breath do not give enough time for a proper paint job.

Oh, O.K.! I just wasn't getting into the spirit of the discussion. Are we going to have him buy an updraft or a downdraft paint booth? I think he also needs a floor mounted dust evacuation system for when he's sandblasting those implements.

Gosh, I'm not sure. Ignorance is bliss.
All I know there are paint booths available but was thinking of a home set up a friend had. He used to rebuild TR6's from the frame up.

Okay, you guys -- I don't even have the tractor, yet, so my devotion to green paint may fall short of your expectations. I do have the 16hp LX279 that has been really good and I've even mowed 5 of the 8 acres with it for the past two seasons. Can't wait for that bigger "real" tractor. I probably will wear a JD cap if they give me one for the 25K I may spend, but I WON'T buy one. Keep talking; it'll help save me some money on those JD implements (I know, Egon, you'll have me make it up on tools, etc.).
