Buying Advice New JD models

/ New JD models #101
Talking with my dealer this past Saturday and he was telling me JD should be coming out with information for public consumption early to mid-November. Don't know what anyone else may have heard...:)

As I understand it Deere is having a large meeting next week with dealer reps in Sarasota FL. My dealer is planning to attend.

My JD salesman called today and stopped by to look at the old 2305 and price a 1026R. Said delivery would be April or May. No literature just explained a few improvements to me and said it could have a 7 Iron deck

My question is if anyone knows the answer to this would the new series that replaces the 2305 have the same ignition and key or would they design a new one ?

Probably different since the new ones are not Yanmar built...but that's just a guess. Why do you ask?

i was planning on buying a 2305 but saw the new 10 series when i test drove a 2305 awhile ago the dealer gave me a key to the 20 series so if i do end up buying a 1026R i would have a spare unless its a new key and ignition system

OK...Tractor should come with two anyway, but I think they are only like $5.00 at the parts counter?

Man....and I thought I was "tight". :laughing::laughing::laughing::thumbsup:;)

I was hoping the JD website would have the 1026R info available as of 12-1-10...looks like we may have to wait until 1-1-11?

Yawn...

Deere hasn't given me reason to move out of my 1996 model 455 nor my 2006 model 3720. I'd like to trade into something new, but...

I found an extra key for my old L130 yesterday should I give it to the buyer or maybe put it up on CL for sale?

The parts book for the 1026 R is online now. I looked at it this morning.

1023e and 1026R listed in the builder now, but not clickable.

That certainly is a strange lin-up.??

In the first line they everything from a 1023 to a 4105.??

Then, in the next line they have the series 2000, 3000 and 4000 listed.

What's up with that.??

The 2x20 to 4x20 are considered premium tractors. The others are considered more entry level.

Did some searching on the John Deere 1023E and 1026R; outlined below are some of the differences in the two models:
1026R
Engine: 3TNV79 (looks like they removed a shim in the injector pump to increase the power/fuel delivery rate as all else is the same as the engine in the 2305)
Position Control
Folding ROPS (there is an optional folding ROPS for both models)
Suspension Seat
Swivel Seat (option on both models)
Standard Seat is high back, w/arm rests (looks like it may be reclining)
Fuel tank is now integrated into the left fender (same on both models)
1023E
Engine: 3TNM72
No Suspension Seat
No Position Control
Folding ROPS (there is an optional folding ROPS for both models)
Swivel Seat (option on both models)
Low back Seat
Both the 1023E and 1026 R have Oil Coolers, the dreaded fan is gone!!

Here is a link to the parts catlog; http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/c...ageServlet_Alt

Look in the Sectional Index under 90-Lables & Optional Equipment; you will see the information on the position control, just look at the decals.
For those not familiar with John Deere parts catalog, in Model Search just type in 1023 or 1026 and select.

Hope this helps!
