Hello Everyone. I just picked up my new Jinma 354 crate tractor from the port in boston on Friday!! I have been reading this forum and CTOA. I decided to purchase a crate machine purely due to the lower cost and I could not be happier!! I need to give a plug to Graham from bolton power
equipment. He is a great guy and let my father and I try out one of his 354 tractors while we were in the shopping stage. However based on the $$ we had and the equipment we needed I had no choice but to go crate.

The machine we bought is one of the new EPA certified tractors. It is put together MUCH better than some of the earlier stuff. It even came with a "real" battery maintinence free with a full charge! The only little issue with it was a mis-aligned hood which took a couple hours to fix.
We also got the FEL, backhoe and wood chipper. These items will be installed this week.

The other thing I noticed was that the fluids seem to be of better quality. All the fluids are clean, clear and of what seems to be of proper weight.

We picked up the tractor about 70 days from the day I sent the funds. We used the china depot as our contact with the factory. www.chinadepot.com Walter is a very nice and honest guy and his prices could not be beat on a crate machine. There was a total of about $1000 of port, handling and customs fees.

I will post pics as soon as I can. Thanks for all the advice so far!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome to the forum John. Glad to hear you've got favorable first impressions. Your observation on the fluids is interesting, the first of it's type I've heard. Perhaps all our commiseration over the crud that they've been arriving with has finally been heard all the way across the Pacific.

Another common complaint has been the quality of the accompanying manuals. Since you're also the first I've heard to get an "EPA crate", I'm curious as to whether the manuals are updated as well..

Thanks for the welcome.

The manuals are still pretty useless. although the manual for the new engine is nice and in color. I was really suprised to see a "real battery" in there. The EPA engine uses a new injector pump, injectors, different timing, and an EGR system.
I will try and take some pics tonight.
