I have a couple questions regarding my new 224. Question 1, I have seen all kinds of post on the service of fluids. My question is, on the 4WD 224, where do you check the front end fluid at and where is the drain located? I can't seem to find any info on this. Second question, I already owned a category 1 3pt blade. I can't seem to get the hydraulic lift arms on the tractor to fit on the pins on the blade. I measured them and if there is a difference it is very little. The pin on the blade measures 7/8". I am wondering if maybe the holes in the lift arms are metric and off just a little?

There should be three drains for the front drive: one in the center, behind the main housing. Then each wheel housing should have a small one near the bottom.

The 224 should have a SAE Cat 1 TPH, so your blade pins should fit. I suspect you just need some emery cloth to remove a little rust.

Hey dh0765,

On the Front Drive, there are 3 drain plugs. Faceing the tractor from the rear. Middle drain plug is on the right hand side of center, the other 2 are on the bottom of the left and right side, near the front wheels.

My arms fit the pins on my equipment perfect. I am wondering if you do not have category 2 pins in your equipment. At any rate, you will need to replace your pins, if they won't fit in your lift Arms.

I am down on the Gulf Coast, where the temps are fairly on the warm side. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The fluids that I am using for my Jinma 224, are working well for me, and I haven't noticed any foaming in the transmission or the hydralics, and my gears are shifting better now, than when I was using 80w90 gear oil.

Engine-- Shell Rotella T 15w40
Transmssion and Front Drive-- WalMart's Super Tech 85W140 Gear Oil.
Hydralic Reservoir-- Super Tech Tractor Hydralic/Transmission OIL.
Fuel pump--30w Non Detergent

Have a nice day,

I had to "clean up" the pins on my box blade with emmery cloth before they would fit properly on my new tractor. sounds like you may need to do the same.
