Deere announced the new 3 series last October and the new 4 series compact utility tractors early this year. Been keeping an eye out for owner/user info here and elsewhere but have seen next to zero to date. Stopped by one of the largest Deere dealers in the area recently and they did not have any models on the lot. Just wondering if anyone has seen or purchased one of the new compact utility tractors and what their take is on the new models.

Slightly off topic, but after reading about the type of Tier IV emission application, which is a 100% EGR system, I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. I would scour the Earth and buy a 3000 or 4000 model at all costs first.

Interesting. Maybe John Deere could not make or did not want to invest in making the Power Tech diesel engine tier 4 compliant for the 4 series. Could it be the reason the new 4 series has a Yanmar diesel engine instead of the JD Power Tech diesel engine used in the 4X20 family??

Think I'll just hang on to my 2007 3720 and my 2010 4320 for another year or two and see how it goes with the new 3 and 4 series.

You are exactly right. On deere's website, they said that they were going to focus on tier 4 75 hp and up. They are putting Yanmar engines in their skid loaders too.
I think they still will be using the smaller powertech's for stationary power equipment, but I wouldn't swear to it.
I hate to see them go from the 4000 series.

RFDTV had a one hour show last night on the new John Deere tractors including the 3 and 4 series. The show will probably air again so look for it on RFDTV if interested. The 4 series can be ordered now and will start shipping in about one month. John Deere also has "Drive Green" events scheduled at dealers where you can see/touch/feel/drive and ask questions about the new machines. If interested go to this link for more info.

Not looking to trade right now but may eventually want to move up in size and/or horsepower. I'm going to attend the local 2014 Drive Green event next week to obtain info, especially on the 4, 5 and 6 series.

I'm glad that someone started a topic on the new JD 3000 and 4000 series tractors that will be released shortly. I do not currently own a tractor, but I am in the market to purchase one in the next 1-2 months. I really like the new option for a geared transmission with the PowerReverse that is offered for the 3000R's and 4000 series. John Deere did not offer that on the lower hp tractors on the previous lineup. Only the Hydrostatic transmission was available for those....

I do wish that all models had the quick attach loader system (something like Kubota has). From what I've read, you can only get a quick attach loader with the "R" models - not available on the "M" models. I've been eyeballing the 4044M model, but still in the decision making mode.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I need to look out for on the new models, please share. I still haven't ruled out a Kubota (even though I've wanted a John Deere green tractor since I was a kid....) Kubota does offer some nice standard features that you have to pay dearly for on the JD.

Thanks for everyone's input on this topic so far. Thought I was the only one wondering about the new lineup and availability of the new models until I ran across this tread.
