New John Deere 5075E Cab

I don't know, but there is definitely some kind of problem there. :( I have had several customers that have wanted rear remotes and their dealer in one instance actually told the guy that there were no OEM rear remotes available for his 3038e. :mur: They are available, he just needs to go to a different dealer I guess.

Having just been through this I think the problem is that the cap screws that come with the second SCV kit are too short. ( Part no 4 on the drawing. ) What comes are 10x100mm but they will only reach into the block they screw into by three threads. You need some 10x105 or (10x110 with an extra washer).

I am about to pull the trigger on a new JD 5075E cab. The dealer is still waiting on the 2nd rear scv to arrive so he can install it. Right now, it is still on the dealer's lot. However, once the additional scv is installed, the tractor is mine!! :cool2:

I am also getting a 553 FEL and MX8 rotary cutter.

I know the rules......it didn't happen without pics!

I assume that you've had your tractor for awhile now and I was wondering how you liked it? I'm looking at a 5075E right now and comparing it against the Kubota M7060. I currently have a John Deere 4720 CUT and need to move up to more power and heavier lifting, both 3 pt and FEL. The reviews on here are better on the Kubota but it's also a little more pricey.

Yeah, I like it. I had a JD 4320 and this tractor is in a different league. I believe the MX-8 cutter is a good match. It has good HP and weight, but it is not "too big". My biggest concern, initially, was how comfortable the non-air and non-adjustable seat would be. However, while not the most comfortable seat I have been in, I have adapted to it and have no complaints.

I have had a handful of "bugs" that had to be corrected, but the JD tech traveled to the farm and fixed the problems/replaced parts. A/C hoses were connected backwards, installed a new starter, installed a new windshield wiper motor, A/C line leak.

The cab is really nice. The dust free environment is AWESOME. Sometimes, when in direct sunlight with temps 90+, it feels as if the air coming out of the vents is not as cool as it is when the temps are 80 and below. Maybe that is normal. I don't know, but the air, in these conditions, is not as cool as some other cabs I have been in and I feel it should be a little colder. However, I have yet to break a sweat when I'm in the cab, and I live in Mississippi. Maybe tinted windows would help??

One disadvantage is that the tractor/MX-8 combo is harder to load on my trailer. However, I realize that I have the wrong type of trailer (a low boy with exposed fenders instead of a deck over). Also, I am always leaving tire tracks (and occasional ruts) on the grass and dirt. This was something I almost never worried about with the 4320 and R4 tires. You have to watch where you drive with this tractor if you want smooth areas for the lawn mower or other vehicles. All 4 tires are loaded.

I looked at the Kubota 7060 as well, but the JD, equipped comparably, was $2k cheaper. Plus, my nearest Kubota dealer is an hour away, and the JD dealer is 20 minutes away.

Overall, I like the tractor very well. I really like the increased HP, pulling power with my 8ft disk, a/c, and dust-free environment. It I was to do everything over again, I would make the same decision and buy the 5075E for my situation.

Yes, the Kubota is at least $2K more...the one I'm looking at is almost $4K more than the 5075E. I've been happy with my 4720 but I'm outgrowing it. I have enjoyed the dust free cab...dust free if you religiously clean the cabin air filter. I have noticed the same thing with my A/C in hot weather as you have...it's not so cool when the temps are high 80's and above. I just had to have a new thermal expansion valve and receiver/dryer installed in my A/C system, along with a replacement hose for one that had a pinhole leak. However, that's the only real problem I've had with the tractor so I can't complain too much. Have you had any of those crazy problems with overheating hydraulic systems? Some of those guys sounded like they were having nightmare problems...fuel tanks melting, floor getting so hot it melted their boots, etc. It didn't sound like John Deere or its dealers were as helpful or forthcoming about the problem as they could have been. In fact, I can't seem to find any evidence that they have fully acknowledged the issue or come up with a fix for it. None of that is too encouraging!

I have not had any problems with overheating. In fact, the brakes on this new tractor have to be pumped one time before they will engage normally. I thought something was wrong, but my dealer told me they are designed this way because the brakes on older tractors were somehow sticking and causing the overheating problems we have read about on TBN.

I did inspect and knock off the loose dirt on my cab filters last week. The tractor has about 55 hours on it. I can definitely see where they will have to be changed every 100 hours or so....and more often in dusty environments.

What function do the thermal expansion valve and receiver/dryer have?

I usually remove and blow out my cabin filter with an air hose every 5-10 hours depending on what type of conditions I'm in. If it's really dusty I'll do it after even a couple hours use when I'm done. The engine air filter I blow out about every 10-15 hours.

I don't know the specific functions of the TXV and receiver/dryer. If I understood them correctly, they chose to replace them because of the possible damage to them caused by the leaking hose. Maybe someone more well versed in AC systems can answer that for you.

Can you explain more about the brakes? Mine are like this and I had been meaning to ask my dealer. So your saying some how this was to cure the overheating and melting fuel tank issue? I guess that makes since because they are wet brakes and use the hydraulic system.

Have you had any problems with your 3pt not wanting to raise after you let the 3pt all the way down?
