New Kioti DK45 SE Zerk Problem

I now have about 30 hours on my new DK45 SE and this thing is great. I found that one of my zerk fittings would not accept grease. I took it off and put another one in its place that I knew worked and it still would not accept grease. What is wrong here and is there an easy fix. Its the zerk near where the bucket mounts to the loader that allows the bucket to swing back to keep things from rolling out of the bucket and forward to dump things out of the bucket.

Maybe a silly question, but is the gun out of grease? Did you try to force grease throught the zerk when uninstalled? Have you tried another gun? Those are some of my knee-jerk thoughts...

If all is fine with the gun and zerk fitting, and assuming the hole the zerk screws into is clear, the next thing to do is change the loading on the pin using the front loader hydraulics (i.e. put force on, or remove force on the pin and fitting to see if this allows grease in). Inspect the pin and the hole in for clearance. If the pin fits too tightly in the hole that could be an issue. Sometimes pins will have a groove to allow easier lubrication.

Hi Mike, try curling the bucket up or down slightly, then try zerk again. Sometimes its just a trial and error thing.

The pin could have a blockage. Maybe small piece of metal when it was machined.

also, make sure there is no pressure on the fitting. Ive found that by raising and lowering loaders, swiveling buckets etc (all of the ones iv'e owner over the years) sometimes its the position a leverage point is in will affect whether it accepts grease or not.

That usually works for me. It is especially important for greasing the front axle by pushing down with loader. However, with a brand new tractor and a zerk that has never accepted grease, I too would wonder about debris or a manufacturing issue.
