So I recently purchased a Kioti NX 5510 HST Cab model. My local dealer didnt have one in stock and after searching everywhere within 300 miles, I found no one had one in stock. My dealer talked to his Rep and was told they had them available at the distributor in NC and he should be able to have it on the lot within 3 weeks.

Five weeks later and the dealer still has no idea when he will receive the tractor. I hate to keep bothering him but it seems like after spending $40k on a tractor I should be able to have some idea at least when I will receive it. Just wondering if anyone else has recently purchased through Kioti and had to wait on delivery to the dealer. I know my dealer said he had people waiting 3 months for some of the smaller class tractors but they were on back order when they were bought. I was told the NX was in stock at the time I placed my order. How long can it take to load a tractor on a trailer and deliver it to the dealer?

No Kioti dealer real close to me, but Deere, Kubota, Mahindra, LS, and small Branson lots are well stocked. You may be a better person then me. After 2 weeks, I might be going somewhere else. I have to have my tractor. Too much work and limited time to do it. The dealer, if he wants the sale, should be able to have it there,.if it was in stock. However, if it was at the distributor, another dealer may have gotten his order in first. Or Rep may have been wrong. You will never know the whole truth about it. Keep asking the dealer. How hard, I don't know. You may need his help later.

That痴 just it, Ive been super happy with my dealer. He actually ordered the tractor for me before I even gave him my down payment as I was waiting on a check from my investment account. Hes been super helpful from the beginning, threw in two sets of rear remotes and free delivery (I live almost two hours away) without me even asking. I think the problem may be that he only starting dealing in Kioti last July and hes only a small dealership with about 10 tractors on the lot (all under 40hp). Im wondering if Kioti prioritizes deliver based on dealer size.

Part of the problem maybe the ports that unload the cargo. Some have all but shut down with the covid thing going on. One port in Georgia I heard about yesterday usually unloads 22 container ships a day but now is only unloading 1 ship per day. The rest of the ships are waiting off the coast line for their turn to get unloaded.

I don't know about the larger units. But kioti dealers around here are slammed handling smaller machines. My dealer usually has a nice stock and currently doesn't have a single open station tractor in stock. And no idea when more will be here. As is I am taking delivery of a CX2510 with turf tires with a promise to take it back and swap on industrials when they show up. My buddy has had a backhoe on order for weeks. I only got my tractor because someone backed out or couldn't get financing.

Kubota dealers I talked to were in a similar place.

Things are a little wierd out there right now.

The 40Hp and under tractors are all in critical short supply right now. The Kubota dealer near me is full of tractors over 60hp and looks empty on the subcompacts and compacts.

Your tractor being a 55Hp model was probably in stock, at their field storage in Wendell, NC. From there, your tractor is shipped as multiple pallets to a Kioti regional assembly site, and then from there is shipped directly to your dealer fully assembled. All your dealer does, is final preparation and makes delivery and registration of your tractor for warranty. So yes the three weeks sounds reasonable during a Pandemic. Your dealer should know the exact status of your order, at any moment in time.

Just to reiterate, Kioti do not ship a fully assembled tractor from NC storage directly to your dealer. It goes through a kioti regional assembly site. This is what the Kioti regional assembly site serving Texas dealers looks like. It only does assembly.

When I left the New Holland / Kioti dealership in NY in 2017 all Kioti wholegoods were distributed from Wendell, NC and a location in Texas direct to dealers, either assembled or crated. All parts for the US were distributed from Wendell, NC.
Maybe that has changed, maybe it has not.

Many distribution channels are seriously disrupted in this Covid affected world. Kioti is far from alone in its struggle to keep dealers stocked.

Thanks for the reply, that makes a little more sense as to why it would take longer than just loading it on a trailer and delivering it to the dealer. It痴 been 5 weeks at this point and I知 just getting anxious. I致e never bought a brand new car, much less a $40k tractor so I think I知 just being impatient.

I drive by the head quarters just about everyday... they just expanded and there are tons of tractors out in their yard.

It's not just tractors. A coworker lost the transmission in his company truck, and since it was scheduled to be replaced in October anyways they ordered him a new one and he started driving a loaner.
That was sometime in June. His new truck was shipped, but got hung up in Boston for a month. Last week it had made it as far as Portland ME, but he was still driving a little kickbox loaner with 170K miles.
I don't know if he will get his new truck this week or not, but it's been almost 8 weeks since it was ordered.

I've been looking to replace my personal truck for about the same time frame. I started out looking at spending around 20K, but couldn't even find one to look at. I then started looking at new, small trucks; Ranger, Tacoma, and Colorado/Canyon. Nobody has them. Yesterday I drove 170 miles one way to look at a Colorado which was just what I wanted... it was sold by the time that I got there. They did have a slightly used 2018 with 29K on it which was just going in to be reconditioned; I placed a deposit on it and they're going to deliver it next week.
