Hey 3RRL,

Mine has large male quick disconnects, unlike my dad's JD and your tractor which has female quick disconnects. I was thinking that female on the tractor and male on the implements is normal. I might have to get mine changed out? I don't have anything to connect to these yet. I just added a hydraulic jack to my trailer, I might should have added a hydraulic cylinder... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

First of all, most hydraulic hoses have NPT male threads crimped on them unless you ask to have them made differently. You could buy the female quick disconnect with a female NPT to screw onto the hydraulic hose male threads. Then plug the female quick disconnect to your tractor males and that will work just fine.

As far as the hydraulic top link... I'm in the process of doing a lot of grading on my property...road work mostly and some pads I'm leveling. There were several areas on the road that had whoop-te-doos I wanted to get rid of, and the pads needed a lot of dirt loosened up and moved around. I also dragged out an area for a deer plot. (See picture)

I use the hydraulic top link to adjust the angle of the boxblade tipped forward so I can rip the dirt and tilt the boxblade backwards to drag dirt from one area to another and further back to smooth other areas without having to get off my tractor and adjust the turnbuckle style top link everytime....just lazy I guess. You know, get out the wrench and loosen the locknuts...etc.

But really, it's very handy and saves time. I don't live on the property so it's important for me to accomplish as much as I can when I'm there.
