I find the B series factory cab to be very comfortable, climate control is very powerful, it's quiet, all glass, and i think the seat is comfortable once you get the suspension set!

Agreed on the b3030. It is nice.

I was just hoping the grand L would get redesigned like the b3030.

Don't get me wrong, I still very much like the current Grand L. Just comparing the Deere to the L, the Deere felt like it fit me better.

You havta go with your gut feeling on comfort and j d manufactures a quality machine & a beautiful cab. If lightweight power was not my primary issue i would have considered a deere. j d is also way more money in the northeast?

Ergonomics are important if you're running around in the woods on a small tractor, too. The bouncing, tilting, etc. will take a toll on you after a while. My old 109 Cadet is pretty good at plowing snow, but having to lean forward to grab the lift handle and manually horse the blade up and down gets tiresome after a while, especially if the stuff is still coming down or moving sideways a lot. For mowing, a good seat really makes a big difference in how you feel after you spend a couple hours in it, too.

Personally, I find the new Kubota seats tend to make me feel like they don't want me there. I'm 6'2", 210 lb. and long of limb but I feel like the seat is tilted forwards and will take a constant push with me legs to keep me from falling off the thing. My little B7100 does not feel like that, but there's no spring action to it at all. With loaded rear tires, the ride is pretty jarring now and then and hard on the discs in my back.

I agree with the forward tilt on the seat. My 5030HSTC felt like that. If I'd kept the tractor, I'd have bought an aftermarket air suspension seat base and installed it. The ride was a killer especially when crossing headlands that were no-tilled. It was like a bucking bronco. I hit my head more than once on the roof.

My first trip in the M9 brough a big smile to my face. It has a Grammer air ride seat, swivels, has support in all the right places and adjustable arm rests along with a nice velour covering that I am going to have to put a cover on so I don't spoil it. The seat adjusts for lean as well as fore and aft. Rides better than my car. I am impressed.

Seats and visibility are my number one priority and control layout is number 2 along with climate control.

8+ hours in a poor seat is a nightmare. That's why I'd never buy a Manhindra. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have the same reaction to the Kubota seats and I am only 5'8". I really thought I would buy a Kubota, but every one I sat on gave me the same feeling that I was sliding forward off the seat. I sat on some NH tractors at the first dealership that had the Kubotas when I first started shopping and every one felt better, even the TC30.

Seat comfort becomes the overriding feature when you spend time on a tractor. The first brand new tractor I ever bought was a Massey Ferguson 240 back in 1984. The first thing I did was replace the seat with one with back support because of my previous experience with the used Fords I had owned before that. I ended up with a Case DX35 instead of the L3830 that I thought I really wanted because of the seat. The bonus was the joystick placement on the fender right where my hand rests and the visibility of the FEL with the curved arms.

If Kubota ever redesigns their seats to make them more like the CASE-NH or JD they will probably end up with closer to 90% of the SUBCUT/Cut market than the 50% they already have.

Seems there are issues with the kubota seats, lots of people don't like them, i think the taller you are the more apt you are to dislike them. I'm only 5.8 and i like the b 3030 seat. Perhaps thats because my butt is still recovering from 5 years in the B7500 seat, now thats a bad,bad seat!

I don't understand why Kubota don't put the Grammer seat on ALL their tractors whether open station or cab models. I can't believe that the cost (in quantity) would be prohibitive and Grammer makes their seats in weather proof coverings as well as enclosed coverings. Grammer is the accepted industry leader in seating comfort.

My 1085 Massey has a Bostrom that will be replaced this spring with a Grammer. A good seat is like a good spouse!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

This all sounds fine, but I have very pleasant memories of the simple steel pan seat on my 8N. It was mounted on a U shaped leaf spring, had no back support, and worked just fine for me. Of course, I was 30 years younger at the time, too. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I too have memories of the pan seat on my Farmall A, but that was from another era. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
