New Kubota owner...overwhelmed!

Welcome aboard. I have had my B7800 for a bit over a year and I think that the more you use it, the more you're going to like it and the more things you are going to find it can do.

I have used mine for things I never would have imagined before I bought it.

On the air filter, my area isn't as dusty as yours but I think what I would do is: (1) check the little particle dump at the front of the filter daily and see whether you are getting any buildup of coarser particles. If there isn't much of that, your buildup on the filter probably isn't much beyond the normal range. (2) take a look at the primary every 10 or 15 hours for the first 50 hours and see how fast it is getting dirty. That should give you a handle on how often you need to clean it.

Happy tractoring. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

geez...now you talk about some support, thank you all. I have decided to slime the tires and blow out the air filter every other use (instead of every use), and also keep a spare air filter handy. the cactus needles are pretty small, about an inch and a half in length and wouldn't be a problem but the 60" bush hog tosses those suckers everywhere and avoiding them is next to impossible. they really don't seem to bother the tires, but a slime job is scheduled for tomorrow's work.

thanks for all the suggestions and the kind words towards my new tractor, i'm really enjoying it. 5.8 hours and already LOTS of work done and my wife is feeling neglected /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif .

Your post hits close to home.

I am sliming my tires this weekend (2nd flat) and my wife who 1st liked the idea of the tractor has since decided she doesn't. She calls it my "mistress". Hey, I think I just named my tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Slime at Tractor Supply is $20 a gallon, cheapest I've seen.

I just noticed in your picture that your brush mower doesn't have a guard on the front. You should look into installing something there either chain guard or thick rubber matting etc. should keep the debris from flying at
you, be carefull when mowing no-one is in close vicinity of you as they can be hit by flying debris. Chain guard
