Congrats on the tractor and 30 x 60 building.
1*The barn is 30'X60'.
2*I use a kerosene/diesel heater that heats it up comfortably in about 20 minutes.
1*I have a 30 x 52 And plan to heat it and cool it with an out door all in one gas furnace and a electric AC.
This is not a heat pump but a seperate Nat. gas furnace and an independant elect air cond all enclosed in tha same steel cabinet.
2*I would set me up a diesel pump and storage system and get off road diesel delivered and use it in the tractor and to heat the building.
I've set up 2 of those outfits in the past 8 months.

Sounds interesting. Tell me more about the heating/cooling system.

I can't believe there are two people on this forum with a place in Dunnegan! Did you work with Bill or Clay on your deal? I'm about to buy from those guys if I can get the right package and price.

Wow, two folks from Dunnegan, Mo! I'm assuming you are talking about Quarles Supply Co. in Bolivar. I dealt with Bill Quarles. He's a real nice person to do business with--he will set you up for just what you need/no pressure. Also, if you wind up cutting a deal, be sure to to see Tim Vaughn the Service Manager there. He will explain anything you need to know. Quarles is a great place. My buying experience was very pleasant!
Where are you at in Dunnegan? My place is on the east side of Hwy 13 off of Hwy O.

I'm on the west side of MO 13 off of county rd. 380. I have a 120ac playground. I also am working with Bill and agree with your opinion of him. My struggles with 'pulling the trigger' have to do with tractor size and GST/HST choices. I need my tractor to do more ground engaging work like discing food plots and not so much front end loader work. Also, the GST has been on the lot longer so he is more 'motivated' to sell it. Maybe that should tell me something? Anyway, are you a native or a relocation?

I'm a California native who is very saddened by the goings on in my home state--crime, gangs, immigration issues etc. My wife & I came to Missouri just about a year ago to experience a different life. We had a deal to purchase a property growing hydroponic vegetables, but it went sour due to a dishonest landowner. So, we purchased the Dunnegan property and hopefully will do hydroponics there. A setback for sure but--things happen for a reason. Anyway, Missouri is a great state with a slower quality of life that we find refreshing. My wife and I adopted three girls and didn't want them growing up under California's looming problems.
Back to tractors. Have you driven both types? Bill should be able to help you make a decision. I bought the L4400HST packge deal ( tractor, loader, brush hog, box blade, and trailer) and added R4 tires and Quick Attach setup. I felt Bill cut me a fair deal. I mainly went HST because it would be easier on the wife and future farmerettes we are raising. The tractor will be mostly doing routine work.
You, however, have much more acreage to "play" in so the needs will be different. One thing that I looked at in the "deal" was service after the sale. Bill certainly does a good job in that respect--something that is worth its weight alone. I speak from experience-- with close to 25 yrs in automotive, many of which I was the owner.
Let me know how things go. Mike.

WELCOME: Could you (or anyone else who sees this) possibly share some brief info on sources, materials, and sq. ft. costs for a Tractor House / Shop such as (or similar to) yours. Where does one start? THANKS!!!

If you don't mind, a ballpark price on that shop?

In answer to the questions about my shop/garage. It's called a pole barn or more tecnically a "post frame building". There are lots of companies out there that build them & usually advertize in newspapers, weekly advertizers etc. Their adds state real attractive prices, --but thats just for a very basic structure (posts & framing, metal siding, one walk in door, and a sliding door, labor).
The nice part about these buildings is that they are endlessly adaptable for just about anything from livestock to storage and can be built in any size needed. Some information on mine:
1) 30'X60' or 1800 sq. ft.
2) 12' sidewalls
3) Two 10'X16' overhead doors. 1 walk in metal door
4) 3 standard size windows
5) All sides and roof insulated 1/4" reflective bubble wrap
6) Concrete floor smooth finish
7) 40 year metal w/colors of your choice
8) All labor to build included in price
9) Quoted at: $22,208.00 Actual: $22,865.00

Nice skid steer attachment for setting trusses. My builder had a homemade one he used to set trusses on our barn with 14' wall.
