You can have 1, 2, or 3 valves stacked together with the OEM setup (which I installed on my L3200). Certain positions can only accept certain types of valves due to room for the lever to travel. I have one float/detent valve and one dual acting valve. They also offer a continuous flow valve (detents to on).

So you can still have 2 or 3 rear remotes if you also have power beyond for a backhoe correct?

Not familiar with backhoes but Power Beyond is just a fancy name for the high pressure hydraulic line. There is constantly flowing high pressure hydraulic fluid circulating through that line. Everything that taps into that high pressure line (in series, one after another) has to allow that high pressure flow to the next spool (valve) until the fluid is dumped back into the tank.

So (on open center systems) the FEL, extra valves, and the backhoe (that are not self contained, meaning it uses the tractor's hydraulic system to pressurize the pistons) has to let the fluid circulate freely...

So the "2 or 3 rear remotes" will also have to have power beyond ability.

Yes, in fact the rear remotes are part of the power beyond loop too, just like a backhoe would be.

On the stock tractor, the power beyond loop goes straight to the 3-pt hitch.

If you add a front loader, it is inserted into the loop before the 3-pt hitch.

If you add rear remotes, they are inserted into the loop after the front loader and before the 3-pt hitch.

If you add a backhoe, it is inserted into the loop same as the remotes -- between the front loader and the 3-pt hitch.

The 3-pt hitch is always last in line and it provides a return to the reservoir.

Thanks for that s219. That made it very easy to understand. I had always wondered if you had to give up a rear remote with a backhoe. I don't have a backhoe, but I think I may get one on next tractor.

Depending on the manufacturer, the BH may use the remotes. My LS with a factory BH, plugs into one of the remotes that has a detent. But, I ordered my tractor with 2 pairs of remotes. I know of people that have the same tractor, the same BH, but no remotes. Their BH has 3 hoses, mine only has 2. They have ports that are dedicated flow for the BH.
Again, it varies By manufacturers. Do some research.

On the Kubota L series (and most Kubotas I know of) the backhoe is plumbed in independent of the rear remotes.

Really there is no difference flow wise to tapping into the PB loop or plugging into a rear remote that is locked open. You can use a bungee or rope to keep the valve/lever open if it's not detented. In both cases you get full flow & pressure on the inlet hose & the outlet hose goes to tank. Pumping full pressure to the wrong side of the hoe valve can be bad for some of them. Just have to make sure you get the hoses in correctly in either case & push the lever the right way if its tied into a remote

On mine, it does not matter which ports the hoses go into. It will just change the direction of operating controls on the BH. To correct them, I just move the remote lever (detent) to the opposite direction.

This could really be helpful for someone who is dyslexic :D
