New reader to TBN. Like so many others I have learned so much. I decided on the L3010 for my needs. Just got it delivered this afternoon. Wow, what a tractor. For those that may be interested I bought it at Aldermans in Lennon Michigan. I know Tim monitors this forum. I have to say they treated me fairly and did everything they said they would when they said they would do it. So I am very pleased. Keep sharing everyone, and I will continue to listen and learn. Thanks to all.

Isn't it a great feeling when the tractor gets delivered! I have the L3410 and love it. Did you go with the HST?

Thanks to all. I officially have 1 hour on the 3010. I love it, but I have to admit I have a lot to learn yet. I have the LA481 FEL, HST, R4 Tires, and also a Woods 72" rear blade. Weather here has been fabulous. But the ground is still pretty muddy. And I found out this tractor can sure leave an impression in the mud. My big accomplishment so far has been to clear out enough space in my barn to park it. Did have to fold the ROP in order to clear the door. Will try to get a picture to post soon.

Hope everyone has a great Easter. You know where I'll be in the afternoon.

Dennis -- I have the folding ROPS as well, and found raising and lowering it such a pain in the a** every time I had to pass under the breezeway or go in and out of the garage that it was only a matter of time before I began leaving the ROPS down for "just this once." So I drilled out the threads and replaced the bolt with a hitch pin. That rattled, though, so I got a longer one and put a spring on it. Problem solved, and it takes about 15 seconds to raise and lower the ROPS now. Gotta remember that safety thing...

That sounds like a great idea. I am worried I will forget it is up and take off the top of my doorway. Like you said today I was out diggin a little and realized after about a half hour that I hadn't put it up. So I think I will be using your suggestion soon. Thanks.

Daschluck, There is a real nice photo essay on the board on how to perform the conversion.

It includes the materials needed, too. Nice job.

It only takes 10-20 minutes depending on how many tools you have to make multiple trips for. But it is permanent as the welded on bolt is rendered useless when your done grinding. I used delux hitch pins with red plastic coated handles for the extra visual hint.

Dennis-

Congrats on your new tractor/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Both my dad(L3010HST) and I(L3000DT) have purchased from Alderman's, and we were impressed. They also promptly took care of a minor hydraulic leak I had.

Don't forget to post some pics.

Paul
