She's home at last. True to their word, the L3130 HST 4WD was delivered as promised and on time from Rioux Farm in El Campo. Got in 6.8 hours this weekend before having to come back home to Katy. Would have got more but we're also building a house and had to put in some lumber time too! Threw together a web page to show off some digital shots (got to get a better camera though), but for now I'll share these.

Stable at Dagg Road

We're not sure what to call the ranch yet, so for now we just call it the Stables at Dagg Road. Once the house is finished we'll start on the stables for the future ponies. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks like fun. How big a spread will you be maintaining? Memorial day weekend here in Upstate NY and it has rained everyday. I couldn't get outside once, just a little too miserable.

LOL, Frank

Hey Frank,
Send some of that rain down this way! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It's HOT and DRY here in Texas! Temp was 96 degrees in the shade on Sunday! Riding the tractor was OK, but nailing studs was a bit of a chore! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We've got BIG plans, but only 18 acres. I think the L3130 fits right in. I've got about 2 acres cleared and the rest is somewhat overgrown. I'll tackle it a bit at a time as we build. The trees aren't that tough. Most are an inch to two inches in diameter. The Bush Hog SQ600 seems to be fine with them. For the larger trees I knock them over with the FEL and then back over them with the Squeeler. Makes a bit of a racket, but it shreds them up pretty good.

Congratulations Icat, great looking rig and location! Hopefully it will rain again someday...... 6 tenths of an inch so far this month, arrghhh. My place is turning into a dust bowl.

Best of luck with your new tractor, and your place.

Congratulations on your new rig! I have lived in Virginia for the last three and a half years, but I lived in the Humble, TX area for the 20 years before that, so I am somewhat familiar with Katy. Those are some beautiful photos of the tractor on your web page. I am sure that by now, you have cut off your FEL bucket level indicator rod to the right length to indicate level. I am not sure I am going to have the heart to take a hack saw to my tractor when it comes in...
Does anyone know any other way to make use of the level indicator rod other than cutting it off?

I'm thinking I'll just put an American flag on the rod and let it wave!

Thanks for all the compliments. The CFO kinda got after me because I didn't include a picture of her on the web site. Can't say as I blame her. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Anyway, I've added one more shot of the misses!

I just painted a ring around the rod at the point where the bucket was level.

I just used a Sharpie marker to ring mine at the level mark.
