New L3400 HST 3 PT Lift smooth?

It appears that kjb is not aware of it by his post even though he sells Kubotas. It appears he may be doing a disservice to his customers if that is the case. Many individuals on this forum have had their valves changed at no cost to improve the lift in the L3400 hst.

The new valve will be FREE and under warranty. I had to call a Kubota service rep and he direct shipped the valve to my dealer who installed it FREE. I had a very early machine and I was the first to complain at my dealer. I also recently had the overunning clutch "ratcheting noise" repaired FREE per a special service message that I read about on this website. Both times my dealer sent out a truck out and transported my tractor to be repaired at there shop and the repair slip shows all under warranty. It does not take much effort on a dealers part to take care of this problem and you do not have to buy a GrandL to get a 3pt that works properly. Don't give up. The new valve is great. Good luck, Brian

I also was one of the first to buy a L2800 from my dealer and also the first to bring this valve to their attention but I was not the first to get it replaced, they were replacing them on newly sold machines before I could get my tractor to the shop.

I may not have got the best deal in town on purchase price but I do belive I get the best service in town.

Dittos, I got mine fixed free too. No hesitation from my dealer.

My dealer fixed mine free. I had it done during the 50 hr. service and they did not charge for pick up. I guess that was included in the warrantee. My L3400 is geared so I don't have the PTO problem.

I would really appreciate that information also. I have not called my dealer yet. But it would be great to have this information also. Anyone with all the information if you could post it or pm to me would be great. I find it it very appalling (spell ? ) for a dealer to be on here saying it will cost us money to fix a manufacturing problem!!!!

I really don't have any info. My dealer looked at the shudder problem and said "that isn't right". They found the fix on the Kubota web site and took care of it. I hope you have a good dealer.

I contacted my dealer about the shudder on my L3400 and they were not aware of a warranty fix. I e-mailed Kubota corporate offices and they contacted me and told me they had provided my dealer with the information on the fix, and all I had to do was arrange for my dealer to change the valve under warranty.

I re-contacted my dealer and they were great... replaced the valve under warranty and were very nice about the whole thing. To this day I don't understand why they didn't know about it to begin with, but the end result was ultimately excellent customer service on their part, and resolution of the problem at no cost to me.

I have to ask this question. Not because I'm bashing Kubota, but because I'm considering them. Why are these tractors being equipped with this valve that causes so much irritation among its owners? Has anyone heard of when the manufacture plans on addressing this problem BEFORE the tractor is sold? Seems silly that I should have to request that they fix a mistake. Just curious.

Also, Heli Pilot, you stated that you have an 8N. How would you rate the performance of your new machine against that old legend? The specs on the 8N (hp and weight) are actually what I am using when making my choice for a new tractor. Would love to hear more about your experience with your new tractor.
Thanks.

I think Kubotas marketing department wanted to introduce a basic tractor with "0" thrills and the engineering department took it at face value and did exactly that down to the position control valve.
The tractor is a great sucess except for the position control valve.
I guess it could have been worse.
