Kubota L3400
:) Well we did it, the Father in law and I went in partners on a new L3400
4wd, gear drive trans., FEL, 5' rotary mower and a 6' blade for the property in GA. Gonna pick it up the end of the month when we go up (we're in FLA.).
I'll post some reviews as soon as we get some hours on her.

That sucks...you have to share. Sharing is for kids and their toys, not for men and their toys. :) Congrats on the new machine. You and your FIL will love it.

Congrats. L3400 is on my short list also. Please share your opinion of shuttle position for reverse. I test drove it once. I know on low range you can shuttle it to reverse but you need to clutch. It was a bit rough to me and I did grind a bit. All and all I think it is a capable and totally utilitarian solid tractor. May you have many safe and enjoyable seat time hours. How about some pics"?

I have a new L2800 with the manual trans. I am new to tractors so not a speed demon by any stretch. And it's just for around the homestead so I'm never in a huge hurry.

Having said that, the shuttle shift is great as far as I'm concerned. You do have to clutch and come to a complete stop or it'll grind. But it's very intuitive to me as everything else I have is manual trans.

I had to dig through a monster drift after the mid-February storm, and it took awhile, but it was fun. As I mentioned, it slower to change direction than a hydrostatic, but I'm slow with the loader so it doesn't matter.

I think you'll be extremely happy with your purchase.

I am very happy with my 2006 L3400. What type of tires?

I have just over 30 hrs on mine.

You'll find the hardest thing to do, is to convince the significant other that what you're doing with the tractor really is work!

It has the R4 tires, not my first choice BUT they should do fine for the level ground and soil type we have, also the price was right (to me anyway) to take it with these tires, right at $17K for Tractor, FEL,Rotary mower and blade.

Already schmoozed the wife.....she likes riding four wheelers so I picked up a new Honda Fourtrax Rancher ES 4x4 last saturday, that outta keep her busy!!
