With even an empty loader and no weight on the back it's easy to get stuck or loose traction. Consider loading the rear tires with fluid and as said always keep something on the 3pt for weight. I made my ballast out of an old 3pt carry all, some scrap iron, a plastic 55gallon barrel and some concrete.
I welded up some extra support on the carry all out of scrap angle and flat iron I had. I would dump all the old brake rotors and other scrap I had around the shop in the barrel.
When I was having some concrete poured I took the clean out / extra little bit and filled up the barrel with it. There are as many ways to make a 3pt counter weight as there are people with ideas on making one. Search this site and the rest of the net for inspiration. Old free weights scrounged at yard sales are a good source of weight that can be added to a box blade to make a pretty good counter weight as well.
