My L4240 has similar issues. I has about 313 hours. As you say rock it or get it out of a bind and it shifts.

I guess someday mine may break in but after 60+ hours I bet I could count the number of times I have shifted gears on my hands. I'm almost always in M and then used the H-DS function (turtle Rabbit) when M is too high. I think I've used L maybe 3 times and H once or twice.

Congrats on your new tractor! I'm not sure the answer to your problem, but where are the pictures of your new toy? :thumbsup:

My GL3240 is the same as is my BX1860. The ranges are mechanical (not hydrostatic) as someone mentioned and are not synchronized like an auto manual transmission so there can be binding/alignment issues.

One more advantage of owning the DT version. Never have a problem shifting any of the gears or ranges.

The ease of use, especially doing loader work, with the Hydro far outweighs almost any advantage of the DT version, IMO. My wife and sons operation has 5 tractors, the L3940 is the smallest the largest has over 100hp and has Power Shuttle with power reverser which is perfect for field work.
