Glad you are enjoying your 4760. I also like the Auto Throttle Advance and stall guard. I usually set the manual throttle at around 1500 rpm with Auto Throttle on.
You may have a slight misconception about the dpf operation. Normal regens occur automatically during operation, and you may not notice anything but the regen light coming on. Parked regens are necessary only after numerous warnings (combination of lights and buzzers) are ignored by the operator.
I don’t profess to remember the various stages, or procedures but I do know that a standard regen (auto) is still possible after the beeping starts.
All that said, I have never done a parked regen, and do not use the dpf inhibit function.

Awesome update Fish! I am sorry to hear about your folks, but glad you have them comfortable and close.

The grand L series is an amazing line of machines. I bet that valve with work in more in a few hundred hours.
Talk about a space pig, try dollying a 2200 lb 14 ft backhoe in your garage. Ya...I am having second thoughts about where to store this guy.

Happy Holidays!

When you use the hand "throttle" to set the rpms, even on a mechanically injected tractor, the load can still vary. The "throttle" tells the governor what rpm to keep the engine at. The pump will pump more fuel as needed to maintain that rpm. When the tractor is not moving or operating the pto the load on the engine is from running the hydraulic pumps, alternator, water pump and fan, and friction and windage in the engine itself. That's a fairly light load. If you're pulling as hard as the tractor will go or running a pto implement that takes all the available power (i.e. running something large through a pto chipper) the governor tells the pump to pump as much as it's set to pump. That load on the engine is much more than just running the tractor.

So you can "vary the load" with the "throttle" set at a fixed rpm. However varying the rpm during breakin is a good idea.

Fishpick I am glad you are still liking your Grand L machine. You know you are livin when you can switch on the engine heater from the house, to to the tractor in a light jacket, move snow and listen to groovy tunes in the warmth of a Grand L cab! As a friend of mine once said "that's how you know you are in fat city".

I have noticed the loader control to be a little stiff with right/operation, but it is getting better. I am glad you pointed out the total minutes involved to do the implement switch, the common core kids would have never figured that out. I also have a gravel drive that I use my snow blower on and that dog will throw gravel if it gets a bite in it's mouth, so I modified a set of rear skids to offer more area, which keeps it riding up on top of the gravel instead of plowing into the gravel. I can adjust the skids for the type of snow and condition of the drive way, then set the 3pt hitch to the full lower position and blow snow till the cows come home. Well I don't have cows, but if I did, they would wait to come home till after I am done, they wouldn't want to get drawn into that blower and turned into flying beef burgers.

Now I still have to turn my head since I have a rear mounted snow blower, but as an offset to that, I park the tractor in my heated shop, so I guess I am still in "fat city". Plus using rear implements over the years has made it easier for me to be able to turn my head, making my kids think I have eyes in the back of my head!

I plow in a Tshirt in my L4060hstc. :p I found the back of the seat is an inch or 2 from the frozen back window & there is a crack between the seat & back... Frozen ***. A cheap heated seat cover fixed that issue.

REALLY?!? I used to come inside after the first snowfall with the rear blower, bitching like Clark W. Grizwald about the snow, the climate, the weather, driving in reverse... and conclude with "where is the Tylenol"!
;)

Haven't noticed @$$ freeze yet... I'll have to put a thermometer between my cheeks and watch for plummeting temps ;)

You provide the most entertaining posts that I have seen on this site! Oh yeah, I ***** about my neck after having my head turned for an extended period of time moving snow. I just thank God in heaven above us all that I am no longer having to move snow with my L2900 and a rear blade and no cab. Not only did my neck hurt but I got a bit chilly when the wind would blow and I was moving snow. Now don't give me ideas about decorating my L6060 the way Clark Grizwald would do! Makes me think of that movie, just think how a snow blower could throw a lawn ornament thru that neighbor's window!

I do recall going to the doctor once and saying "you are going to put that thermometer where"!

I bought my L4740 new in 2010. I now have 3000 hours on it. Mechanically I only had one servo value go bad which was $300 so mechanically it did very well and has been an extremely efficient tractor to use. But there is a but.... the rust and paint fade is ridiculous and kubota won't fix the problem. Also the parts are getting very pricey.... a front head light is $35.00 and a block heater that I have to buy $166.00 Not the end of the world but other parts have gone up crazy in the last year. I hope to be buying another tractor in a year or so but because of these things especially the rust I am second guessing buying kubota. If you have just bought a kubota I highly recommend not leaving it out in the elements and undercoating it every year. Kubota paint sucks.
