New Life to an old dethatcher

Very cool, but sitting here at work, why do I seem to recall the points of my tow behind dethatcher tines face away from the direction of travel vs into it? With the tines pointing forward, I would think it would hang up easily and shoot material forward as they spring back. School me.

I don't know about your machine but the tines are pointing in the right direction I believe. I looked on the web to check others, both a typical pull behind Sears and a typical Northern Hydraulic. You do get a spring action and they do flick forward from time to time. I would imagine you would get more of a stroking action if they are reversed and not as much de-thatching. But if it works for you who am I to question.

The tines are pointing in the same direction as mine.
