Bucket should be at least width if the rear tires

Hmm. Bigpuddie, have to disagree with this as a general rule. That would mean that CUTs with 84" wide rear Titan turfs would sport a 7' bucket. Curious what your reasoning is. Are you perhaps thinking of using it mostly for snow in lieu of a front-mounted blade or snow-pusher?

Soooo... the new 60 is here. .

I looked at that photo several times before realizing the bucket is NOT attached to the tractor but rather carried on a forklift or similar attachment. OK....

Unless you are very space limited keep the wider bucket. As someone else said it is good to have the bucket the width of your rear tires if feasible, the closer the better for many things. With stone and heavy mud/soil you may not handle a full load very well but so what ? It is easier to handle a partial load in a big bucket than it is to handle a load that overflows and won't fit in a small bucket. Eventually you may even pick up a second bucket and by that time you will be thoroughly educated. I recommend grinning and keep going.

I have never seen a CUT with 84 inch tires, but large turf tires would be the exception. I have Massey Ferguson that weighs 10,000# and tires are 82 inches wide. My reasoning is based on snow plowing and general dirt work and wanting bucket to be at least width of track. 20181024_163628.jpeg

Agree with Bigpuddie. I have a 76" bucket (4-in-1 hydraulic pinch bucket) on a MF2660 where my rear tires are 96" outer edge to outer edge. Many times I wish the bucket was wider. However the existing 76" bucket is HD and weighs a hair over 1000 lbs. as is. On that tractor I have no snow removal task, a wider bucket would be unwieldy, and I mostly use it cleaning up an old farm. On smaller tractors (where I do have a snow removal application) I have buckets that match rear tire outer edge to outer edge. In fact, on the smallest BX2200 here at home I bought an old used bucket much larger than Kubota offers for that little tractor and had a welding shop mate it to the loader primarily for snow. It is probably 6" wider than the tire track on both sides. I added hard rubber/vinyl skid strips underneath to protect driveways.

Nice tractor, BTW!

The optional Titan turfs for all of Kioti's NX series models (21.5L-16.1) put the rear sidewall-to-sidewall width at 84", with the actual track at about 82". Great in snow and on rough ice, but limit the options for hauling.

Thanks. Those are big ones. Nice floatation

Soooo... the new 60 is here. It was trucked about 10 hours to my Parents for my pickup and trailer back home. By dealer error I now have the 84" over the 72" bucket.
  • Price was for the 72".. told to keep it or exchange locally.
  • The Loader manual/spec book lists the 84" as a light material bucket? Which is the first place I saw that note about the 84.... M1816
  • It does seem beefy, but not like my 72 HD on the L.
  • I now have the 48" forks... so no more using the bucket for non-bucket type chores.

I just wondered if you had any helpful stories or notes on why ya either loved it or hated the 84" or did not pick it? I live in mid MI.. so snow would be a plus I think? We do a lot of bucket work on the hobby ranch and hay farm. ...and Manure is manure and goes from here to there in the bucket. As the great song goes "Should I stay or should I go now"... tump thump..

...after typing this up.. I think I have my answer . But you guys and gals are all awesome sources of fun and good reasons.

PS- Wife said it's long enough to put down a camp mattress and my sleeping bag. Barn home guy bed. haha. I think she meant doghouse.

Have a HD 78" HLA (Horst) bucket with bolt on reversible cutting edge on an LA1153E (euro QA) mounted on a M7040SU.

Got the 78" for "free" since the 72" Kubota bucket wasn't on hand. Be happy with the upgrade.

Take the loader and/or bucket off if it's in the way.

84" will be fine unless you are planning to fill it with gravel, otherwise

When I bought my M6040 I had the choice of HD 72" or light duty 84". I went with the 72". I do move heavy stuff with the bucket and the 72" full of wet sand is a plenty big enough load.
