Tractor
M9000/L3400/B7500
I fragged the rear differential on My M6800. the whole thing exploded and the case grenaded. I had Ice chains on and was pushing on uneven ground. I had skidded 15,000 feet of pine the week before and I felt like I was finally beginning to respect the tractor. I had it for 28 months. I was just a bit sad. I had always told the dealer "we'll see" when he boasted about great service and support.

I called the dealer on Saturday and he had me a loaner(M9000 cab and loader ) on the Job in 2 days. I was able to finish the job.

I liked the M9000 so much I traded. My dealer made me a great trade for my M6800HSD against a M9000hsd. Now I have to gear the 9000 up for the woods work. Skid plates and limbrisers all fit with minor troubles. I liked that so much I bought an L3400HSD with loader for small farm chores. The dealer through in another multitool discount(saved me $1,400).

Anyway for the price freaks, the M9000HSD with block heater, QA1251 84" with loaded tires and welded stem covers and cast iron centers, was $36,500 I got 17,500 for the M6800 as is. And she had 1000hrs of HARD use.

The L3400HSD was $14,400(after discount) with Woods QA1009 loader loaded tires and block heater. (I start the tractors every day, and we have -40F lows for extended periods).

I know you guys get way better prices. I saw a post with a M9540 with FEL for $34,000. But the treatment I got when I fragged my baby made all the price difference worth it.

The whole deal was over in under 3 weeks and I had the loaner for every working day until the new one came. That is Piece of Mind Guaranteed. POMG

Sounds like a really good dealer for you.

Where abouts are you located?

I have an M9000HDCC3. That's an M9, hydraulic shuttle with an extra low range in th box. LA 1251 with a QA and 84" bucket, cab, all options and 3 remotes. Mine was 42K. I'm on R1's with cast centers, no valve protectors, it's a farm unit.

I just posted some pictures on the Kioti forum, were are comparing loader flex.

It's a beast. You can't beat the air ride seat.

I traded an 5030 worked HARD too. got 24 on a trade. My 7th Kubota.

Sounds great Daryl. I used a cab model for a few weeks as a loaner but when I got my M9 I opted for the open station. I jsut like the open station better for woods work. Strictly personal preference.

If I can afford another M9 for haying I will get the cab. Just for the seat. As it is I'll use this one and jsut suffer. I help out a few weeks a year with hay chores on a few farms. I agree with your quote. Around here it is easy to find work if you are into long days and little pay. I was getting $30 hr for the M6800 loading round bales with a clamp. Pathetic I know but there it is. I Charge $65 an hour for just the tractor and loader for non farm work.

I am amazed by the power increase over the M6800. I did not expect so much more tractor. I love it. I can hardly wait for round bales. Probably still just get $30/hr.

Your price sounds about right. I mean the cab is like $4000 and everything else is the same as mine so I think we are just paying more here in the North country.

What do you think of the JD 5525?

Actually Joe it was the untimely demise of my very favorite JD 4700 that got me that nickname. I cracked the tranny . I feel like it was the tractor, not abuse. That machine had very strong hydraulics and I feel that the loader frame was under designed. The Deere dealer got me so mad I traded for a Kubota M6800 instead of a JD 5425. The rest is history.

tk:

Can't bear to type "tractorkiller".

A cab in the woods is a no-no. I tore the door off the 5030 (expensive) doing some clearing for a friend on a woodlot.

The M9 handles rounds really well. Last winter when I first got it, I helped my farm partner pull round bailed 4 x5 rounds of cornstalks out of the field. I used the front forks spread wide, stabbed 2 bales at a time in the center with a rear mount spear on the back with one. Bales were around 1500 pounds each and no problem. It's a bad dude. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just love to hear the turbo scream. It's a testerone thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I never look at JD's. We are the black sheep around here. This is JD country.

If you can do a photo sometime I’d like to see the armor you added for working in the woods.
