New Mahindra 4025 owner

Hello RJBaldwin;

I also have recently purchased the 4025 4WD, and have had no problems (only have 8 hrs on it so far). it's a 2012 model, so I changed the oil & filter cause the oil was getting old. Noticed a layer of black gunk on the two drain plugs, guessing that is from sitting around and not being used enough. hope to remedy that soon. looking for a brush hog at a reasonable cost. Dealer told me a 6 ft. brush hog would work with it, in fact they (Southern States here in Delaware) are selling this tractor with the 6 ft. standard brush cutter. With 31 PTO HP, I'm thinking that that's pushing the envelope a little.

I have a 5ft bush hog and will be using it this weekend. I will post how well it handles it. If it does it with no problem (as I will be going through heavy weeds) then I would think it should do the 6ft all right.

I also just bought a Mahindra 4025 - 2wd w/ FEL. I purchased the 6' shredder. Granted most of the stuff was just tall weeds and grass, but the tractor had no problem with it. This is the first time I use the tractor (have 4hrs on it).....my only gripe would be that the feet rest shake way too much. Although, I did notice that it does not always do this.

For my purposes, only 5 acres with some trees and fencing, I could have gotten away with a smaller tractor, the HST would have been nice, but I'd rather have the extra power and size for when I actually need it....

JD, sounds like we have the same tractor, my feet rests don't move at all. You might want to check and make sure everything is tight. At work so can't confirm but if there not bolted then you may have bad spot welds or something.

I think I'll try the Mahindra 6ft. shredder- I'm gonna go get one tomorrow, if still available. If my feet rests shake, will let you know. And, yeah, the HST would be handy, but getting used to the old school shifting again- I just needed a basic tractor without all the fancy stuff.

First time posting but been lurking here along time. I bought a 4025 fel 2wd coming up on 2 years ago. It handles my 6 foot cutter with no problem at all. No matter how thick and dense the grass has gotten so far

Thanks, trickydick- will see how it goes-

RJBaldwin, How's the new tractor doing? and, how are you going to move your hay, with a spear or pallet fork? I will be moving some round bales myself, and only have the bucket (so far).

Just an update- and then I'll quit hi-jacking RJ Baldwin's thread (maybe).
Bought the 6ft. Cutter, and you guys were right. no problem with power for the stuff I cut. And the Width is just right for
the tractor. The feet rests don't shake at all, as jdgarza4 mentioned. of course there is some vibration from the cutter, but not much.
The cutter itself works as expected (standard duty Mahindra), even though it makes a drumming sound at certain speeds. Probably the sheetmetal vibrating.
Cut the back pasture, mostly spotty weeds, then a little tall grass/brushy stuff. 2nd gear- no problem, but I slowed to 1st gear because everything is new.
PTO rpm seems un-nessesary, I didn't feel the need to run it that hard. DSC_7173.jpgDSC_7174.jpg
2 passes through the taller stuff

I noticed the feet rest shake at high RPM, maybe I'm just pushing it to hard and need to go up a gear.
This only happened when I was using the shredder on high weeds/grass.
