New manufacturer now producing in Ohio

Hawkline Mfg is now producing a complete line of 3 point Dirt working tools, Brush Hogs and Trailers in Mt Orab. Ohio--They have sent me color brochures on all they are currently manufacturing. The quality, price and color choices of Sherwin-Williams polyurethane finish may make them a winner--Will have to just wait and see about the design and engineering aspects--With so many Shortline Mfgrs already in the business and the competition as stiff as it is, you have to at least give these guys credit on moxey, for entering such a over saturated market---Ken Sweet

I found this on the web. I had hoped to see a tiller listed. Do you know if this will be all of their products? I didn't find a web site for them, will they sell direct or through distributors?

HawkLine LLC, to be located in Mt. Orab (Brown County), will receive a 65 percent tax credit for a five-year term to begin operations. The start-up company plans to manufacture agriculture implements specifically targeted to small farmers and landscapers with farm-type tractors under 50 horsepower. The implements include rotary cutters, landscaping blades, disc harrows, light plows and utility trailers. HawkLine plans to lease approximately 85,000 square feet of space to house its operation. Ohio was in competition with Kentucky and Alabama for this $852,155 project that is expected to create 65 jobs within the first three years of operation.

Just who's machines are those pictures of because they have not produced a machine yet? Midwest, WAC, LP, Rhino, Woods & others could be recolored and have the Hawkline stickers put on them. They just poured the concrete floors in the building where they are going to manufacture these items. The existing buildings on the site they leased had dirt floors.

With digital photography as advanced as it's become, those "pictures" could be something other than what we've come to consider traditional photographs. Something like that would explain "pictures" before the start of manufacturing. Another possible explanation might be that the pictures are of hand built prototypes and not production models. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I've seen their flyers as well. They have a couple interesting designs in the rotary cutter and 3pt. disc. The cutter has a clean top of deck as all of the bracing is under the deck. This would make it very easy to hose off after using. The disc has adjustable gangs with the front having 4 positions and the rear 3. The adjustments are done without the use of tools as a pin is used to lock in the position. As always, time will tell if the designs will hold up under use.
