context of the US economy
Hi WVBill--I think the demand for this type equipment could even grow as months go by--I know it is hard to figure out, but the agriculture related tractor and attachments part of our Companys e-commerce business has doubled since 9-11--We have analyzed this "Quirk" in the US economy for over a year and we come up with a few things that our e-commerce customers are telling us #1-They are saying they are raising a garden for the first time in years, so as to have a food supply for thier family that is from a "safe" and known source #2-Lots of our customers have relocated from the urban to rural areas for family safety and security reasons #3-We sense the customers we talk to today have had a change of heart about family values and church attendance is up #4 Last, but not least, Mama (CFO) is more than content to go along with all of the above, because all this works toward protecting her family--In Summary: I realize that parts of the economy and also part of the "big" ag tools market is not doing so well in the last few months---We at Sweet Farm Equipment Co.are just trying to stay ahead of the curve and anticipate the future as it relates directly to our business--I bet Hawkline, Midwest, First Choice and most of the big "Main Line" boys have also figured out this phenomonon and are gearing up for it??-Ken Sweet
