I highly recommend a HST machine. I have worked on a farm for several years and have ran nearly every size tractor with a variety of transmissions. When it comes to smaller tractors, I believe the HST is hard to beat. I have had a Kubota BX2350 for a few years and have nearly 500 hours on it now. Even though it only has 23HP, it never ceases to amaze me when I really work it hard. Remember, this is coming from someone who has ran 300+ HP equipment.
I would definitely look at the new Kubota Grand 60 series. The high/low shift on-the-go hydro would be great.
I have 60 acres and a JD 3203 with HST , 32 horse , and a JD 1070 , 40 horse . Cant beat that HST . I would look at the MF 1540 . 10 of my 60 acres is cleared the balance in pine
