New Kubota B2920.
My old Yanmar 240 died, the steering column locked up. Since I'd just spent a month muddling through replacing the prior one when it broke (and I had to steer the tractor home with the brakes, which was Interesting because the right brake is full of leaked hydraulic fluid) I decided it was time for a new tractor. The Kubota dealer is closest and my wife has a special fondness for Kubota (a very long time ago she handled pricing tapes for ADP Dealer Services, and of all the small tractor dealers, Kubota was nicest. It's a reason. (Terex was nicer, but they don't make anything in my size)).
We picked the model with the same PTO horsepower as the Yanmar so we could run a Bearcat chipper/shredder. We've planted trees with the backhoe, mowed (eight foot tall!) blackberries and broom with the cutter, and shredded a pile of hazelnut scrap with the Bearcat. Next week more shredding. And some mowing. And maybe some tree transplanting. No tilling until spring. Maybe some raking after the mowing. Are we having fun yet?
I signed up because y'all have been so helpful (in particular, identifying the set screw on the three point hitch saved me hours of anguish swapping off the backhoe). I'm hoping eventually to return the favor.
Can somebody tell me how to edit my profile?
