Welcome, again, from SC. I use a Kubota M series myself so it's not a fair comparison. I've had mine since 2004 and have had zero problems with the Kubota. I actually picked up a 2010 L4400 4x4 HST from a friend last year and find it to be a good tractor but I just dont like that hydrostatic transmission. I know, everybody else LOVES the hydro. I do appreciate the 4x4 on the steep hills I have around my place but Sumter wouldn't be burdened with that problem. I keep threatening to the sell the L but I haven't gotten around to listing it anywhere yet. I will tell you that I have had no issues using the L4400 to load and unload heavy implements such as 6' heavy disc harrow and the RCR1860 landpride bush mower over the side of my F250. But I think that only weighs around 600 lbs or so. I bale square bales so I have no experience using the L to move round bales.

I have spoken with the kind folks at Carolina Power equipment and found them to be very helpful. I purchased my tractor from the Kubota dealer in Greenwood though. Best price I could find back then and no talking down to me because I'm a woman.

Good luck with your search.

If the rear comes off the ground, you stand on the front axle. Then it immediately rolls to one side because it's on a pivot. Before you can usually react it hits the end of the travel & the entire machine rolls. If you aren't wearing a seat belt you get crushed to death.

If you're doing it right you only lifted the bale the minimum necessary, so when the rears came off the ground the bale hit the ground and balanced you before the tractor could roll. If you had the bale right at the top of your lift and then get the rears off the ground (maybe you're stacking bales, and stopped too fast making the tractor pivot forward) then yeah, you're in real trouble.
