Hello,
I've lurked on TBN off-'n-on for a while. Most recently been looking at how some of the members have built barns.
We live off-the-grid on 320 acres of recently (selectively) logged land in the mountains of Southern Oregon in the Applegate Valley region (near Grants Pass). A old-timey Listeroid 6/1 diesel engine provides backup power to the 3+ kw solar panels. Our new house is hand-hewn square logs w/ wrap around porch. Here's our website: www.docbryner.com/mossy_hollow
I have a Kioti DK45SE hydrostat, w/ FEL, backhoe, PHD, and chipper. Tractor has about 350 hours on it. No troubles except for a 4wd switch that failed in the first few weeks (easily fixed under warranty). Now I have a weird short that I can't find in either the dashboard or headlight system (same fuse). Tractor is going to dealer tomorrow to fix.
Hope to participate in discussions in the future, especially about remote living and barn building. Thanks for a great forum!
Marcus
