Tractor
Kubota L3800
Hi:
I just joined, I am looking for information on different makes of
Tractors and pricing new. I have 10 acres and do a lot of bushhoging. Some crops, but moving to grapes and berry growing.

Welcome! As my alterego from Jarrel pointed out, lots of information and resources on this site for any question you can think to ask and many more.

To get you started in your tractor search, the most important thing is NOT the tractor.

Whether you choose Kubota, Deere, Kioti, Mahindra, New Holland, Ford, or Yanmar; you will be choosing a tractor with a reliable history and a devoted fan base. There will be resources available for you if you want to be self reliant and do it all yourself or if you want to be the gentlemen's farmer and have someone haul it back to the dealer to wipe the smudge off the seat for you.

The big thing for you to consider when selecting a brand is which looks and feels best to you. What features do you consider important and which brand does those features the way you like best.

After you decide what you want to do with your tractor and maybe after you have decided which tractor you look best sitting on, the most important decision you will have is to pick your dealer.

The dealer is the decision that will make your experience heaven or he LL. If you never need to service your tractor or buy any accessories or parts, then who cares about the dealer. Almost everyone will, of course, need parts or service and most of us tend to buy accessories or implements over the years. The dealer service and attitude make this important part of tractor ownership pleasant or a nightmare. So pick your dealer very carefully. It will make the most impact on your experience bar none.

Now enjoy the forums, read the reviews and complaints. We have lots of rabid fans and some that just like to argue. You can learn lots from both sides of the fences.

I have a Kubota L2500 with a Woods Groundbreaker hoe with a Bro-tek thumb and a Ratchet-Rake on the front bucket. (knock on wood) this unit has over 600 hours and has been absolutely bullet-proof. I would be lost without this toy. I'm sure there are other brands just as dependable, the choice is yours. Good luck.

Welcome. If you can give us a little more information we can help you narrow down your choices. I would think that with Berries and such a smaller tractor, maybe a B series, that is easy to get around them would be something to look for but if you plan on doing lot of brush hogging then more HP to run a larger unit would be nice. How often and how much land do you think you will be hogging? Do you have any reason to get a cab? Are you going to be mowing/ hogging around the berries?
