Im new here also but ive been running a 9n for 5 years and recently bought a kioti ck2610.. looking back I should have just bought one years ago.. as for your 8n.. the easiest way to get your timing right is to convert the whole thing to 12v..setting the points on front mount distributor is a bit more difficult but isng that big of a deal.. can use a matchbook

My 8N runs beautifully with CD ignition, and 6V battery.
No messing with points!

Wow, I forgot I had joined this site... and the post. I still have the 8N.

I bought a RK37HC a year and a half ago. I love having the bucket and a pallet fork on it. Mows faster with the 5' bush hog but still bouncy in the field. I may get a 6' bush hog and go slower. :) I have to figure out how to smooth a rough field of brush that I don't want to plow. (The crop is watching deer and wildlife.)
One huge improvement over a stock 37HC - 6" Bora spacers. I would go 12" if could... but the 6" really helps with stability on the hill if you keep implements low.
Sadly, the 8N is living in a HF tent.
