If price isn't a big concern, I would go with the Kubota. It's probably a better tractor, and if you have a problem you will appreciate the nearness of the dealer.

Thanks everyone!

I'm heading out to capture some pics of the tractors in question. Then I'll line them up on the wall(my wife thinks this is silly!) with the prices and then specific features I like. I already have an extensive spreadsheet that helped clear things up. Thanks for all the advise and please keep it coming this way!! I do this when ordering a new racing sail with all the colored panels until something stands out. I'll stick with my "proven" method!

Kubota does not have it listed on their site yet. )</font>

That's surprising. One of the major selling points for the Grand 30 series has been that you can get them with the HST tranny.

According to Kubota web site the L3400 is offered with HST tranny, or i am reading it wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The L2800 and L3400 are both offered with HST. I've seen them at a dealer in the Houston area. Prices for them is roughly $1100 more than the gear version.

Al,

I considered Kioti but without a dealer within 200 miles I had to pass them up. Thanks for the advise!

Yeah, then you can blindfold yourself, and trow a dart. That's pretty much what I did.

So they don't have to come and put out a wildfire! They want you to have the capability to douse with dirt if things get out of control. I think it's more a staffing problem. 5000.00 fine each occurrence if they catch you without a permit.
