- Kubota BX2200
Hi all. I have a BX2200 that I purchased used about 7 years ago. Bought it with a front snowblower, 54" belly mower, and a weight bucket for the 3PT.
Have a 4' brush hog & a chipper to give the rear PTO a workout.
I installed a new FEL and valve kit 3 years ago... it took a few years for my dealer to admit it could still be ordered and tell me how to do so (grr....).
It took an additional year for it to be built. I particularly love the FEL (and the tractor's small-ness) during Spring bark mulch season (a.k.a. right now).
We have 20 acres, and use the BX for general yard work, keeping fencelines around some fields clear... sort of ;0(
Heaviest use is brush-hogging our hayfield borders, and maintaining a few miles of walking trails in/amongst the brush and wood that I've cut into the regrowth & wood of our former grazing land.
I chose the BX because it was the biggest thing that could fit into the more landscaped parts of our yard, and has a low enough stance that I don't feel (too) nervous navagating the slopes in our back acreage.
But I've mostly reverted to mowing the lawns with a big hydro walk-behind (faster, nicer to the soil), so some sort of B-series or bigger is probably in my future.
Really need a more muscular machine to spin a bigger chipper, and an offset mower.
Oh yeah, and I really wish I had a backhoe. I have about 1000' of stone walls to re-stack, and I ain't getting any stronger with age ;0)
