Hi. I am a new member, but have referenced TBN quite often. I just bought a used PT-1850. It is old (2003), but low hours. It sat outside a while, so will likely have some things come up from time to time.

The steering went out today after four hours of tough brush-hogging. Had to do a bunch of loops to get it straightened out, but finally got it into the barn. I am hoping it is one of the steering cylinders. The steering seemed slow when I began using the machine a few days ago, but I didn't have a frame of reference. Anyone know how to tell which cylinder is the culprit? It seems to turn to the left more readily than to the right.

Anyway, glad to be here!

Thanks for the welcomes! Called Terry, and he said I should rebuild both steering cylinders. I ordered the kits and am looking forward to a good project later this week or next!

Hey Carl, I think he found your tractor's twin!

Welcome aboard, Juan!

Yup. Yup. I think so. Jk if you need advice on how to change them.

Thanks for the offer. Completed the job Friday night. Was not too bad, but one of the end caps was already pretty deformed. I was able to remove it and put it back together nonetheless. I hope it doesn't cause any problems. Maybe I should order a replacement to have on hand just in case.
