Yea i think VN tractors in texas is the only one left. There were two and i think there was a huge lot in Atlanta but i think that is the one that went out? Unless thats Vn and they have a lot in ATL. I had just seen references and pics of it on the web. But yes Vn is the only vietnam allowed importer under the settlement and i do beleive that they have to use the YNM logo on the hood and cant say yanmar. I am not sure that they are allowed to say yanmar in any of the advertisement either? But the engine tag still says yanmar. I think they call them japanese diesel tractors in the ads.

Me personally if i was spending the $9.5 and was a long way away i would go ahead and spend another $1k to get the frederics. But just cause its frederics does not mean it will be trouble free. Just a few months back that member has a tractor with the leaky valve cover and warped head that kept over heating and sucking oil on his redone Frederics tractor. Now they made it right and came and got the thing but i cant see them doing that if you buy it and haul it all the way back to NV. Now im sure they would ship the parts to you to fix but that still leaves you doing the wrenching on it. This just goes along with the 35 year old tractor comment. Most parts that you would need down to major engine overhaul parts are availible its just that with an older tractor anything can happen. But with a newer one that can happen as well. ANd at least it looks like the yanmar parts and aftermarket parts are here to stay. At least i hope that.

Having delt with Fredricks and which I've been there. My kind of place for sure. Also a supplied dealer of one of their Tractors. And of course they knew just exactly were it was going. IMHO they would be all over that unit. If I recall the tractor Clemsonfor was referring to. The poster commented on how long the Tractor was checked and Tested on a Dyno to make sure there wasn't any more problems. There are things on it that can fail that they can't control, But those things are easily taken care of. The Engine, Trans, etc. They will make **** sure it's right and working properly. I wouldn't hesitate on purchasing one. And honestly I would feel real comfortable about it. Plus you have Hoye that could have most anything there quick if needed. There just throw down the Brother In law card.;)

I still said i would buy one for the difference of the $1K ;-)

Just pointing out any dealer or tractor is not immune from problems. BUT i would agree one that is more cobbeled togeather from used parts is more likely to need repair than the fredericks one

Clemsonfor here are just a couple of good reasons why I would pay the 1.000 difference also. 1st. Yanmar won't let Vn. use the trademark Name. They have a good reason for it I'm sure. 2nd. I'm a true believer in you get what you pay for. and 1.000 Dollars is a big reason.
I actually looked into buying a Tractor from a local dealer to me in Lawrenceville. Ga.. No longer in Business Hah.... 2 dealers come to think about it. The VN. Dealer really Didn't care to deal with me but I'm not going to get into details of it. Last time I did on here Yrs. ago someone had a HUGE HISSEY FIT.:p
I then found Steve's add of Spalding Tractor & Equipment on CL.. Drove out and he had no problems with my opinions. Made me such a great deal I left him a Check and came back and picked it up. :D I was so pleased with the deal and Tractor he sold me, That's when and the reason the Ym2500 was purchased from him. After I had to change the way I did things. And of course when he found out who it was actually for, he gave a special price on it. That's been over 8yrs. ago and was just looking at his CL. adds. I would like to up grade to a bigger Tractor. But my 2000 still runs and operates like it should so I can't justify it right now. Like some people know I put a lot of seat time on a JD.5103.. But Still someone would have give a almost ridiculous deal not to go back to another Yanmar..
