Yea i think VN tractors in texas is the only one left. There were two and i think there was a huge lot in Atlanta but i think that is the one that went out? Unless thats Vn and they have a lot in ATL. I had just seen references and pics of it on the web. But yes Vn is the only vietnam allowed importer under the settlement and i do beleive that they have to use the YNM logo on the hood and cant say yanmar. I am not sure that they are allowed to say yanmar in any of the advertisement either? But the engine tag still says yanmar. I think they call them japanese diesel tractors in the ads.
Me personally if i was spending the $9.5 and was a long way away i would go ahead and spend another $1k to get the frederics. But just cause its frederics does not mean it will be trouble free. Just a few months back that member has a tractor with the leaky valve cover and warped head that kept over heating and sucking oil on his redone Frederics tractor. Now they made it right and came and got the thing but i cant see them doing that if you buy it and haul it all the way back to NV. Now im sure they would ship the parts to you to fix but that still leaves you doing the wrenching on it. This just goes along with the 35 year old tractor comment. Most parts that you would need down to major engine overhaul parts are availible its just that with an older tractor anything can happen. But with a newer one that can happen as well. ANd at least it looks like the yanmar parts and aftermarket parts are here to stay. At least i hope that.
